Shane Black Receives Death Note - ComingSoon.net
Too late, the anime ending already ruined it. (as you can tell, I read the manga)
Death Note ruined itself. There's no character that I didn't end up wanting to kick in the teeth. Especially the live action Japanese movies. They're great for a drunken party laugh, though.
Hmmm. I'm mixed on this news.
While I loved the live-action movies, watching the anime felt like a chore so I never got around to reading the manga. This just leaves me wondering what anime Hollywood will adapt next.
Can't be worse than the japanese live action movie. At first I thought it looked good. But I could not complete watching it. It was kinda boring.
Now where's the Death Notebook when you need one?
That'll stop this movie from ever getting made. .
Eh, never liked Death Note anyways. No real surprise that a live-action adaptation is being made, with the American versions of AKIRA and Bleach coming out next year.
I will say this....
......they'll probably use some damn good CG for Ryuk.......
Better then the japanese movies anyway.
Nothing of value will be lost.
Is Death Note still as popular as it was a few years ago? Seems like Hollywood is a little late in just starting the process of adapting the property.
Anyway, I'll reserve judgment until we get some more details about the actors and how closely the plot will reflect the source material. I'd be happy if they just adapted the first 7 volumes of the manga and then tweaked the ending a little; the whole thing went right down hill after that.
That's a very compelling argument for why you think this announcement means Death Note will be 'ruined'.
I can see it now! Zac Efron as Light Yagami, Lindsay Lohan as Misa Amane, and...
For the record, Shane Black has never ruined anything. He's like the John Hughes of action movies. He'll take whatever the hell Death Note is and make it (more?) awesome.
deathnote is garbage anyways, like someone else said, nothing of value was lost
That reminds me, someone send Jon Favreau a copy of the original Bubblegum Crisis anime. I feel confident the man responsible for directing Iron Man could make something profitable out of that.
I heard that Hollywood were making a film of this 1 or 2 years ago. I'm against it. I don't want Hollywood touching any Japanese franchises. They already ruined One Missed Call, and I only watched 2 mins of it.
I want Japan to make a Dragon Ball movie.
Aren't they already making a live-action Bubblegum Crisis movie for a Christmas 2012 release?
.....i'd rather see a Live Action Bleach starring Zack Efron...(really I wouldn't mind he's not that bad when he's not singing)
or a Live action "Black Butler" With Jack Black and justin Beiber
......I can't tell you how many things are wrong with this.....
Mixed feeling on this. Love shane black, dont care for death note.
Or he's played by Denzel Washington and Yagami Light is played by Will Smith
