    Just finished the issue.

I actually kinda like how it ended. Starscream did something legitimately GOOD. I’m actually suprised at how this ended. He actually wanted to do good things that benefit others, but his past finally caught up to him.

Rattrap is revealed to be DC-357, and I’m surprised that he gave up proof of the crimes against Cybertron. Starscream’s change clearly got to him.

Oh well, I’m really excited to see what Windblade does in the future.

I was expecting Windblade to win, but I wasn't expecting Starscream to confess and end up in prison. As a whole I found the annual to be very sweet and I'm sad that the series didn't have a longer run. Gonna miss it.

I'd love them to grind Scott back for another ongoing after this, was legitimately surprised how it went.

Also feel bad for Blast Off with the way the Combaticons were all standing away from him at the end.

Also fuck The Mistress of Flame.

I'm feeling kind of disappointed. My favorite part of TAAO was the Combaticons and I was hoping we'd get some closure with them. Instead they are not really in the Annual much and they wind up in jail again at the end. I notice Blast off is now seated far away from the others, and Onslaught and Vortex look angry (at him? ONslaught's head is turned from Blast Off) or at their situation? I am not sure if the others found out about the memory alteration or not, or what's going to happen. I can only hope that their story will be continued somehow.

They clearly did, given Starscream confessed and given Airachnid is locked up too.

Yeah, you're probably right. But that just makes me want to know what happens... that's a big thread that hasn't been resolved yet. The one I was most interested in, too. What happens if the other Combaticons learn what Blast Off agreed to? Guess I just have to hope they continue that thread somewhere.

Also... did we ever find out who was sending Onslaught and Blast Off those notes? I'm not sure if that was revealed and I missed it or what...

Wow, what a beautiful issue. A somber yet tender read.

I'm not looking forward to the stream of people going "nooo, Onslaught and Blast Off should have been happy!"...cause Blast Off is a wapist. And he don't deserve a happy.

That was about all I could ask for from a one-shot annual finale

I realized as I read through it, just how much I will miss fresh TAAO issues being on the horizon. Hopefully it just becomes another in the line of Mairghread-cast miniseries, and we can return to these faces with her behind the helm again

Great ending to the President Starscream saga, if some editor or writer ever gets the idea to try and reset his personality for G1 nostalgia-accessibility I hope they get a deafening earful

    It w
It was Rattrap. He confessed to being DC-357/whatever the name which is where Onslaught was getting the messages from. He was hoping to skip off to Eukaris but Starscream's confession scuppered that.

It was a sad but satisfying end, I'm going to miss this series.

This was a great finale through and through.

Big shakeups, Windblade is now in charge of Cybertron and Starscream is now in jail. The moment when Starscream finally decided to stop lying, great moment.

The Combaticons story was handled in a more subtle fashion, but that didn’t diminish it. And Brawl had one of my favorite moments of the issue, very touching. And Vortex had the funny moments too.

Fuck. Tremendous issue. So sad Scott won't be able to continue exploring these characters.

But when did this happen? Before or after First Strike? Why is Screamer still in OP 13?

I thoroughly enjoyed this issue. I have so many emotions towards Starscream and his character development over the series (and previous miniseries). Sigh...I'll miss TAAO... I hope they get the same team to work together again in the future.

I don't understand why the Combaticons were put back in jail. They were victims of SS and Airachnid.

Sure, but they were criminals who wrecked the city, kidnapped and coerced Wheeljack and Rattrap, stole the Enigma of Combination, and tried to kill Starscream too. They only reason they weren't locked up for that at the time is because of the phony cover story Starscream provided for them after pulling the brainwashing.
