http://news.fantasymoguls.com/originalcontent/2007/07/transformers-tr.html Interesting data. 90% of the people in the poll who have seen the movie at least rate is very good. Although the women 25+ attendance is low, the bracket actually rates the movie the highest. In addition, it appears that the "family crowd" has yet to even see the movie which in turn could drive up box office numbers above 150 million for the week. Yikes!
The execs seems a bit high for a movie that has been out since Monday night. I figure it should round out the week with about $140 mill. BTW, Twin Twist, your sig pic is great!
GAH! You beat me to it today! That's what I get for having server problems as soon as I walk in the door at work.
The total take seems kind of high, but I do think it will be above $150 million. The buzz on this movie is a lot better than I expected. Every one I know that has seen it has loved it. One friend of mine went so far as to say it was the best movie he had ever seen. I've seen it twice and I may see it again this weekend.
I couldn't agree more. I mean, come on, it's only made $77 million more than License to Wed and only nearly matched the 2-week take of Ratatouille! Paramount, Dreamworks, and Hasbro bankruptcy proceedings are forthcoming.
All I know is that this is the second movie, behind Star Wars, where both times Ive seen it, people cheer and clap throughout the movie. Im going to do my part to stop Potter from gaining steem on this movie and see a third time. Only other movie Ive seen three times in theaters was Apocalypto.
According to this website http://www.the-numbers.com/movies/2007/TFORM.php It has already topped $100 million in worldwide gross - and it hasnt even got to the first weekend in the US yet. I'm betting it tops $150 million before the weekend is out. There are countries around the world (like good ole blighty) that wont get this film for another 3-4 weeks. The rise in revenue for this film is going to be a long drawn out process - we wont get a good estimate of total gross until mid-end august.
What a silly thing to be said..this movie will not fail if it doesn't make 200$ million by the end of this week.
I think the movie will be in theatres for a while so it'll keep growing in sales. I remember Toy Story was still being seen like 3 or 4 months after it came out. At least that's what I think i remember...
