I've been looking at the new deluxe Thunderwing... Its been bothering me, because his robot mode looks awesome...but does he even transform or is the whole jet on his back??? To be honest he should have been a voyager...

He does appear to be another figure who suffers from 'whole-plane-on-his-back' syndrome, but like Universe Silverbolt, still has an awesome robot mode.

I wouldn't let it bother you.

If he didn't have the plane on his back, then he wouldn't look exactly like his Pretender shell. Which is the whole point of making that figure. I'll take that over a Skullgrin who doesn't remind me of the character at all. (Bludgeon has enough really unique design cues so that they could get more creative.)

In fact I was surprised by how much Thunderwing does look like his G1 figure and Skullgrin looks so unlike his. Yes I know Skullgrin is a repaint/remold of an existing toy, but it really was a bad choice in this case.

And I thought I was the only one who felt this way about Skullgrin. Guess I'm not alone anymore. ;)

Skullgrin is a bit arse, but I've still ordered him because I love the Straxus mould, and I'm a walkover.

Thunderwing, however, I would gladly drown a kitten for, right now.

Hehe....I agree. The fact that it's a new sculpt specifically designed to mirror Thunderwing's iconic Pretender shell is enough for me.
