As some of you might know, my wife and I moved into our new house last Thursday. Still, we had to empty the locker at our old place tonight. As we were almost done packing the SUV (I was installing the bike rack), a furious thunderstorm started. And we could see the lightnings rapidly coming our way on the horizon, with heavy rain. Emilie suggested we hurry up so we don't get hit. "As if" I was thinking.

Well, exactly as Emilie was to enter the (quite small) building to hand back the keys, a lightning struck the building's lightning conductor, right in front of her!!!!!   She jumped back, unhurt, but shit, that was scary!! I saw sparks and the sound it made was so loud, it was unreal! I still can't believe what happened. She was quite shaken, but all is fine. Still...

 

I once met a guy who had been struck by lighting.

I was training him how to replace a CRT tube in a computer monitor when I happened to touch one of the (still charged) electrodes and got knocked to the floor, he says, "aw man, that ain't nothing - I got struck by lightning once." and proceeds to tell me the story.

Anyway, good to hear your wife is ok.

Yeah, I just saw this on another post! Thank God, she's ok and its moments like this when we realise how much our loved ones mean to us!  

 

Damn glad noone was hurt! I'e seen lightining crack a 50 ft pine tree in half, but nothing that close!!

Anyone see that movie The Great Outdoors with the one guy who was hit by lightning 66 times in the head.

I'm glad that everyone is ok, but you know what is going to happen right?

Every time you question her about something, she will just say: 'Remember the Lightning? I was right about the Lightning!!!'

 

I was shocked once when I was plugging in the Xbox and I touched the metal part of the plug. My whole arm went numb for about 5 seconds.

 

Also glad she's ok. That's crazy scary

 

That is just freaky. I'm sure glad ya'll ok. cuz I've heard some gruesome stories of people that have been struck by lightning.
