Generations is harder to find while DOTM will become common and you can get it on sale. The paint on it is also better seeing that my DOTM one has paint easily coming off so Gen is longer lasting. DOTM has more posabllty and a funner transformation. Get Generations first then DOTM but best would be both on a BOGOHO sale.

Yeah, Generations TC has some of the prettiest (and i mean that in a manly way!) colors i've ever seen on a modern mainline release.

For some reason a deluxe version of the movie design just seems ridiculous to me.

GEN Thundercracker is an excellent and very nice-looking G1 homage, though the Classics Seeker mold has not aged well, having rather poor articulation. DOTM Thundercracker is a superior toy in terms of articulation and general playability, but it's Movieverse design, so your mileage may vary.

On top of that, GEN Thundercracker is very hard to find in most areas. Personally, I find DOTM TC to be a fantastic toy and looks great, but GEN TC works best as a display piece and to fill out your Neo-G1 Seekers. I would recommend the DOTM one.

And unless you want a bigger Movie Thundercracker, don't bother with the Voyager. The Deluxe is far superior.

Depends on your collection. If you like your figures to have a similar style, go with whichever one fits your collection aesthetic the best. If that doesn't matter, I would recommend Generations. The paint apps are great, I think it's the best looking version of the Classics Seeker mold. DOTM Thundercracker will also be around longer, so I would get Generations while he's still around.

well I read the first person's reply to this thread and while the Generations figures are a bit hard to hunt down, I guess I was pretty lucky today since I went to Walmart for my last day of shopping and I found these Generations figures

    Kup
Wheeljack with these weird stick weapons
Thundercracker the Generations version along with the regular Transformers 3 Dark of the Moon version
some Decepticon Generations figure where his weapon could be wielded like a staff or something.

The price for each figure was ok at 11.99 but not really worth spending 11.99-12 bucks on each figure but if I had more time I would have loved to buy the Generations version of Thundercracker since he's more of the old cartoon look

Gen Cracker and Warpath are all over the place at my local walmart, so I'd get Gen Crack if I were you.

Except nobody's willing to pay the now-standard $200+ for a cartoon-inaccurate Masterpiece Seeker repaint (which totally contradicts your sig, BTW).

So unless the retailers forgot about the tremendous failure of Hasbro's MP Skywarp and go for another MP Seeker (TRU might pick it up, who knows?), the Generations release is the best G1 homage. It's just that the DOTM version is the better toy.
