I went to my local walmart this morning and to my surprise they had put out the new thundercat figures. My store previously did not carry any figures from the modern or the classic line, so I guess this means with the reset that they will be carrying these now. I found 1 complete case of the 4 inch and 6 inch modern lines. The new 4inch figure that I noticed was Claudus, I don't watch the show so I'm not sure who that is. The 6 inch figure case had the following:

    Cheetara X 2
    Lion-o X 1
    Panthro X 1

They also put out a case of the new 6 inch classic figures that had 2 each of Lion-o and Mumm-ra. I'm really glad that a local store is carrying these now.

Dammit. Tygra isn't in the newest case. He was my most wanted from the line.

So I went hunting in vain for the TF Prime Voyagers and made a pit stop at Target. While there I stumbled upon the new 6 inch Classics Lion-O and Mumm-Ra as well as the deluxe Grune. After much debate I put them back just in case I did find Prime figs at TRU. That was a bust so I hit another Target and voila, they had the same figures there as well.

I happily bought them and figured I'd try my luck at a third Target in hopes of finding Cheetara but alas it wasn't meant to be. Thinking about it I saw 3 Grunes today, I really should've picked them all up for trading fodder. *sigh*

I sure wish that the armor of Omens was just a plan 6" figure. FFFFFfffffuuuuu....

The Mrs. Brought home Lion-o and Mumm-Ra 6" classics today. No dice on Cheetera, but I have a hookup here so I'll have it soon.

I know it's basically a statue, but that is going to look great in my Thundercats display!

I still need to grab Panthro. How am I ever gonna get Tygra and Cheetara when these aren't even sold at Canadian retail? The online prices are expensive as hell.

it holds this tiny Sword of Omens that resembles a toothpick, it was horrid, and the claw shield is meant for a toddler.

These 6" classics are two of the worst figures I've ever owned:

Get outta' Lion-o's way guys. He's gotta' take a crap!

Really? Some of the worst? Because I was putting serious consideration into buying the Lion-O. I saw one at my Target yesterday but the box was ripped so I decided to pass for the moment.

The body on Lion-o is pretty nice. . I don't like that the ankles don't have any side-to-side bending though. The hands suck, and it's a pain to get the sword in. The sword itself is a piece of floppy shit (which is weird, bc my teen lion-o's sword isn't THIS bad at all), and the face is atrocious.

I'm not even opening Mumm-Ra. I think I'm just gonna take him back.

Thanks for the info, looks like you saved me $14 plus tax. Shame that it doesn't sound like it turned out that well though, I really thought it would have rocker ankles.

Yea... sorry for not being more positive about it, but I try not to be blinded to bullshit just because I spent my money on it. This just... isn't good.

I was hoping it would be a Figuarts Lite of sorts which would have me buy it, but since I have no real attachment to the original show I'll be passing unless it goes on sale or something.

Personally I love 6 inch Mumm-Ra, but 6 inch Lion-O leaves a lot to be desired.

Um, the ankles are on a pivot joint, meaning they have a lot of side to side bend. The hands don't seem that bad. Very firm grip on the sword, which is better than a loose grip. The sword is shitty, yes, but I didn't think it was worse than Modern Lion-O's. And yeah, the face isn't the best. The paint is good, but the general sculpt isn't on that part of the figure.
