Yeah, good news. Don't want to see the cast of CATS make a cameo on the big screen.

Personally I think Thundercats would be a horrible live-action movie...animated FTW

This, in my opinion, is good news. I could have sworn that I read that the team who did the recent TMNT flick will be animating it, though I could be wrong. I'd much rather have a really good CGI flick that holds true to the original than a live action flick that takes severe liberties wit hthe franchise. Let's face it, some of the fun of Thundercats is how campy the whole thing is.

I never saw the new TMNT, but the fact that it was CGI and NOT live action made it look better to me. I think this would be the same for Thundercats.

Not to mention all the crying over if the character designs were severely changed for the live action film.

Hm. Definently good news in my opinion. I'm not sure Thundercats would do well if it were live action. Like Joe just said... part of the original series' charm was the campiness.

Bad news? I see nothing bad about that, only good.

A live action Thundercats not only makes me cringe, but makes me think of this:

Which also creeps me the hell out.

And people felt like transferring TFs to live-action was difficult. I don't care how good the makeup was, live-action woulda looked like a bunch of furries running around at DragonCon.

Yeah, live action would be either terrible or unrecogniseable (with decent makeup they could play up the feral aspect and have a whole load of beastial warriors slugging it out in live action, but it wouldn't be Thundercats)

CGI would be awesome, the TMNT crew would be a grand choice.

Yikes, I hadn't noticed! That is going to itch when it grows back!

The live action movie wouldn't have been any lamer than the fan made trailer...LINK

As long as Cheetara stays super hot one way or the other, I could care less if it's live action or animated. However I do have to agree that a live action version would look a little on the silly side, though I'm always open to being proved wrong. TMNT's CGI was pretty good aside from some of the Shrekish human characters. Advent Children was animated very well into CGI without making the humans look like they came out of a Disney movie, so I really hope Thundercats does the same. There were times when I watched the Advent Children trailer when it first surfaced when I couldn't tell if it were animated or real, and if that did that for Thundercats they'd be gold. I hope the story telling is fantastic and it stays a great fantasy adventure.

This is awesome news! Now I just hope they don't stray too far from the original designs. Getting the original VAs (those available) would be nice too.

I was hoping the title of the thread was "Thundercats: The Movie is not going to happen!"

That would have made me happy. Now they're gonna shoot this in the chest like they did with Voltron's CGI series, and the crap that was Transformers Energon and Cybertron.

Damn, I really wanted to see The Rock as Lion-O. Seriously. I guess he could still voice him. I'd love to hear Ving Rhames voice Panthro as well. I hope they don't go low budget on either the CGI or the voice actors.
