I would say the kittens are far from one-dimensional. Wilykit showed a pretty good amount of depth in this last ep. She was open to meeting the elephants and learning about them, still melancholy about her mother's loss but able to turn it into a positive thing with what's-his-name's (Not-Arnet's) help, and willing to accept their solution to an impending disaster and remain calm in the face of it - drawing strength from those around her.

Plenty of dimension inasfar as I see.

I am sure 'Kat will get more focus in an upcoming ep. For goodness' sake, this show made the robear berbils not just tolerable, but likable and interesting.

Man, this show is slam-dunking the writing. The fine animation, foley, and voice work is just icing the awesome cake.

Screw that! Let's go find the Jackelmen,,, the Amazons  ,,, Tuska Warriors,,, The Lunaticks of Plun-Darr,,, etc. etc. etc.  

 

I must see this show's version of the Lunatiks, just to see what they do with Alluro and Chilla.

What can I say? I like evil characters who have good relationships among themselves.

The quest? yeah, I think that's gonna take a few seasons.

agreed. this series has taken everything that was great about the original series and made it better, and everything that was "bleh" or poor about the original series, and made it amazing! the bears now know how to make weapons... makes me wonder what they will be like the next time they're in the series. will they have more weapons? will they BE weapons??? will they be cute cuddly war machines?  

 

Curious you say that because when the new episode started and saw the radar I actually said "Oh, right, they are looking the Stones of Omen".XD I didnt remember they had a quest at all, I just wanted to see what new adventure/trouble the Thundercats get into. XD And yes, when we will see Jackelmen? I wanna see the Vulture one too. Not the Lunaticks, back then they creeped me out a LOT! XD

 

Man, I really love Robin Atkin-Dowes's Mum-Rah. But I thought i was Charlie Adler at first...

Also, the new episode was pretty interesting. I like how the 'circle of life' is played. (Like the wasps steal the elephant's food, but thier buzzing keeps the stone giant asleep.)

 

If that's what you consider plenty. It's a pretty basic character at best so far, but like I said that doesn't make me dislike the kittens at all. I'm just saying they're not as adorable to me as they used to be. Though Wily Kit is deffinately the better of the two.

Still more interesting than poor Cheetara, I swear she exists for fanservice and nothing else. Even her VA sounds like she's falling asleep at times.

I got that impression also. Great episode, can't wait for next week's.

 

I figured the ghosts and the giant bird thing were really good.

 

i tried not to laugh. but i failed.


as for today's episode, i realized the bird wasn't the villain as soon as it showed up.

 

I'm afraid this episode did not help my deteriorating opinion of the kittens. In fact, they outright annoyed me at the beginning. The animation quality also declined a bit this episode. I loved Tygra, however. I've never thought much of him before. Also Lion-O's sword fails were pretty funny. Also pardon my french but those paper dudes were fucking stupid as dick. I mean, seriously, paper? Did we trip and fall in some bad anime? Oh God it's all over my shoes.

However Cheetara was pretty funny.
"He did break my staff."
"Sorry about that." LOLOLOLOLOLO-

Deffinately a weaker episode. It showed yet again that the Thundercats themselves are awesome, but other than that was pretty forgettable. Forgettable plot, forgettable animation.

 

Downes Should voice Starscream.

 

At first, I thought it WAS Adler voicing Mum-Rah, but was proved wrong. They sound so, so, so similar.


As for the episode: It was okay in my opinion, but I really didn't care for the 'oh, look! Paper is now dangerous!' concept. I made about 50 paper cut jokes. And it's good to hear Cheetara having more than 3 lines, for once. But the constant whining about her bowstaff got annoying.

Oh, and poor Snarf. Scared out of his wits.

 

The episode was fun in its own right. I enjoy the fact that they're trying to establish their own world with the various characters within this new incarnation.

Maybe this is or not, but I enjoy that this episode kind of touched up on the whole love triangle between the three.
