I bet Squirrel & Fresh have some good ones.
If they don't post them then they're being jerkfaces.

I'd like to know how it's all going with the Cancer issues.
How's the progress with it all going these days?

What do you do if you're missing a leg and you get phantom limb cramps?

Actually, some recent research suggests that standing in front of a mirror with the missing leg painted on it may be helpful, especially if pain medications are administered while you do so.

Tsao JW, Heilman KM, Pasquina PF, et al. Mirror therapy for phantom-limb pain. New England Journal of Medicine. 2007;357:2206-2207.

Also, phantom limb pain may not always be phantom limb pain.

    However:

    The moar you know!

But if you wanna do something that's good for a radio station as far as it being semi-controversial, novel, and relevant to a great many people, you should address the fact that a bunch of assholes are deciding to not vaccinate their children because Jenny McCarthy told them it would cause autism, and that their extraordinary selfishness is putting the rest of us at risk by creating reservoirs of previously well-suppressed diseases.

But maybe you could present it a little more unbiased.

Man,you hit the nail right on the head.I would believe it is more of a heredity thing. My ol'lady is fine but her sister is autistic. We have 6 kids and 1 has been diagnost with it and 2 are showing serious sighns of it.I don't think it has anything to do with vacinations. It was around for years people where just not smart enough to recognize it since it did not have a name.

That is regrettably not true. The majority of states allow parents to sign "moral" and/or "religious" refusals to vaccinate.

How about a report on the current state of nano-medical research? You could focus on things like

    - Functionalized Carbon Nano-tubes as selective drug delivery systems, as well as the other possible applications of carbon nano-tubes
    - What's going on currently with this nano-peptide hemostasis solution (which was probably the coolest thing Id heard about a couple years ago, but haven't heard anything about it since.)
Nano hemostat solution: immediate hemostasis at th...[Nanomedicine. 2006] - PubMed Result
    - The potential use of IR radiation to excite metallic nano-particles into sufficient thermal levels to selectively kill cancer cells
    - Nanomaterials for use as biological analogies, to reduce the need for animals in testing.

Or if that's too deep, how about those infomercial weight-loss pills that work by "clearing you out". Is there any scientific basis behind them? Do they work? How badly could the side effects mess you up?

What about Water Allergy? (or aquagenic urticaria)
When people's skin erupts in itchy red weals when they're in the shower.

Is it a toxic response when water touches the skin, or to an extreme sensitivity to ions in the water?

-Or, The Tree Man, from West Java
Is it just a rare immune deficiency, which allows the human papilloma virus (warts) to get out of control?

    -Or Putrid Finger,
That guy who pricked his finger on a chicken bone, leaving him with an infection which made him smell terrible.
Antibiotics would'nt work so he made a plea for assistance to anyone that has had a similar case.
Supposedly it cleared up spontaneously, but who knows why?

-Or Chimeric people (chimeras), who are composites of two non-identical twins that fuses in the mother's womb.
Most cases are women who find out they're not the biological mother of their own child, despite the fact that they are.
And everyone thought chimeras were'nt real

    -Or Foreign Accent Syndrome,
When you wake up speaking another language, that you don't even know.
Like that lady in 1941, who was ostracised after she was injured during an air raid and began talking with a strong German accent, wtf

Is it a psychological or neurological disorder? Or is it simply a listener struggling to interpret the change in the subjects speech patterns?

-Or Morgellons disease, where people have fibres growing out of them, that feels like they're being attacked by a parasite. Which possibly comes from from a bacterium called Agrobacterium
Or is it just simply Delusional Parasitosis?

Organ transplants. Do a report on how many potential lives a single healthy adult body could save/improve. And the black market costs on each organ.

thanks for the ideas guys(its for tv not radio) and my boss cringed at the circumcision idea. which was great. Some of the ideas may be limited by location of professionals but i should have a good start.
