I have gone thru mine and have to say it was suprisingly more enjoyable than I first thought. First I got it for only $15 at my local comic book shop so I thought it was def a bargain. But after reading it I found it to be an excellent book. I know I am a mark for anything TFA but to me its the best incarnation of the tf universe so of course I recommend you purchase this book as soon as you can get it. The book is a real fun read just like ATF should be and had some really nice fanwank. The other thing I liked was that it left alot open for a second book so here is hoping for some more TFA!!!

I had a hard time not making the pages with Sari all sticky.

Okay, on a more serious note, I loved looking at the concept designs that never made it into the show. Lots of information from the comic shorts, including the UK stuff. Plenty of creative writting regarding character bios you could have Ramjet relaying his thought on Slipstream.

I only wish there had been season 3 content, but I hope there are enough sales of the Almanac to justify a volume 2 being made, among other things...like that comic book continuation of Animated...

It's a helluva good visual reference, has tons of little nods everywhere in the writing. I especially liked the early design drawings and that many episode summaries and character bios are 'written by' various other characters. (you can practically hear their voices when reading them) I found it particularly amusing that each of Starscream's clones' bios were written by one of the other clones, and Starscream wrote his own. :)

Also fun to note - I ordered the book from Amazon, which said it would arrive in late September/early October. I later got a mail saying it would arrive sooner than expected - early to mid September. One to two days later I got a mail that it was shipped, and now here it is.

Same thing happened to me. I ordered mine from Amazon on the 26th and I got it today. It was a lot faster than I expected. Also, I agree, the book is full of awesome. Transformers: Hero looked like it had some potential, but I like where Animated went.

Its a fantastic book. One of the best series resources I have ever seen. I have bought 3 more copies for xmas presents. You really can see the time, effort and love that went into this book.

I got my copy in the post a few days ago, I love it.

All the obscure references and the production sketches are brilliant. I did notice a couple of copy errors that are a little distracting, but overall it's a quality book!

I hope sales are good enough to warrant a "Season 3 and beyond" volume.

I just need to pick up some TPBs of the IDW stuff to add to my 3 Titan UK comics and then I think I'll have all the Animated print I need.

The "design" of the book is bloody awful. Thankfully the illustrations and the information are good enough to almost make up for it. I guess it's a lot of pages for a low price so I can't complain too much.

    Pretty much this.

The drawings are awesome. And these unobscured, multiple-angle character pictures will be a big help to a lot of people who customize and draw.

I was actually kind of meh on it when I saw it at my comic shop. I'll keep it on my radar, probably pick it up after the last waves of toys and the season three DVD set.

It's the best TV series tie-in reference book I've seen in a long time. It's almost as good as the incredibly cool Six Feet Under companion.

I bought it, but I haven't read it yet. But people seem to think it's good maybe I should give a look then? I skimmed through it and just saw some half finished drawings. I don't really get it. :/

Even not being a huge Animated fan, I would have bought it if there had been toy reference/pictures. Seems like a glaring omission for what is supposed to be a pretty exhaustive book.

And yes, I get that there are some reasons why that might not have been the case, like getting the ok from Hasbro, etc... still, that's what kept me from buying.
