Boukenger this year has quite the insane release -- a black/yellow repaint of the Overdrive Megazord. HLJ still has them in stock here:

Some excellent pictures (and a review in Japanese) can be found here:

What do you all think? From an aesthetic point of view, the combined mode looks bloated to me, but at the same time, 10 construction vehicles merged can do that. The fact they can rearrange into different combinations is extremely neat. Throw in the diecast, the chrome, and the exclusive variant colour, is the DX Black Ultimate Dai Bouken worth pursuing?

    What do you all think?

....my god... BRING ME THAT DAIBOUKEN!

There is no better color scheme than black, gold, silver, and red. Considering the normal Ultimate Daibouken is made from 10 different toys, he ends up being overly colorful, so to see it in such a solid and unified color scheme is incredible. I have never bough Sentai toys, I stopped buying Power Rangers after In Space. But just the normal Daibouken, especially after seeing the dumbed down US version, makes me want to break both of those streaks. Unfortunately right now I'm so broke I can barely afford air, but if I had the cash I'd be buying that in a heartbeat.

Yeah, the colour scheme is soooo cool! I would have gotten it if I didn't have other stuff to buy. For those who are afraid that BOA's overdrive megazords' gimmick may be ruined, I suggest getting the Japanese ones.

Does anyone here know how tall the fully combined mode is? I'm trying to get some dimensions of the thing, but I'm hitting dead ends.

i've never thought anything power-rangers related looked any less than like complete ass, but that right there is pretty damn sweet.

Didn't realize they were doing the black and gold repaint of that too. Figured the yellow repaints of the crane and drill were the only ones they did.

Going purely off review-reading memory, but I -think- Ultimate Daibouken is somewhere between 10-12 inches tall.

I wasn't impressed at all w/ the combined form of everything. But the black & gold uniform color scheme is what sold me and make me order this set a few days ago. Well that, and the shitty megazord release from BOA.
