It's just a one trick pony that isn't overly clever or interesting. Doing it in the first movie kind of worked, only because there was a legitimate reason for it. Keeping it in the sequel, despite having spoken at the end of the first movie, was evidence of poor, uninspired writing (or lack thereof since he didn't have any dialogue) without any kind of merit or reason. There just isn't any reason for it to become Bumblebee's new gimmick.

All of that is true, if you ignore the fact that it became a popular and identifying trait of the character. Much like how every version of Starscream has to be traitorous, Megatron's arm cannon, or Optimus Prime being a truck.

Bring back someone like Rodimus, Hotshot or even Sideburn. Bumblebee is completley overrated.

    That's a viable option...

    ...as is this....

HA! No. Hell. No. Hot Shot had 3 chances. All three is spoiled.

So, like, is he doomed to never speak again? I should assume he will lose his voice in the comics now. Why not??

Agreed, the whole thing is just irritating. Use a damn mini-con if they're so hot on the idea of a robot who beeps. Not a main character.

The series still has aways to go. It's possible he could get his voice somewhere down the line. It's only been 2 episodes. We don't know where they're going to go with this yet.

Face it, this variation of Bumblebee is the one that the new generation recognizes, and him not having his voice is unfortunately one of his recognizable characteristics. But I'm willing to wait and see what they can make of him, before writing him off.
Personally, I like the "R2" thing better then speaking through radio clips. Especially the fake way they do it in those internet shorts that they did for the toys, recently. To me, that'd get much more annoying after awhile.

I agree it is much better than radio. But I suspect they would've done that if had been at all practical.

That implies that it is broken, which we don't know if it is or not. That could be normal for Bumblebee.

I donno about that. That would really bring up more questions that are harder to come up with answers for.

It actually makes more sense that he has a damaged voice.

Well his bio on the Hub's website says that his voicebox was damaged on Cybertron, so it sounds like it's broke.

Well, I still hope it stays broken. Every Bumblebee voice actor has been more annoying than I can stand.

Even Dan Gilvezan and Bosch? I thought they were more than decent.

Agreed. These beeping sounds are annoying me. It maybe cute and all, but considering what kind of muscle (car) he is in this continuity, he'd really need a voice.

That's another good reason to keep the R2 voice, the contrast between his gentle personality and the masculine alt-mode.

I have to agree with that. That is one of the likable aspects of this version of the character.

That said, I still wouldn't be against it if he did get his voice back at some point. So long as they find a good voice for him that fits the character, and doesn't make people regret asking for it.

The reason why Bumblebee can't talk is maybe because he graduated from the same school as Snake Eyes.
