I don't buy toys anymore and I'm not handy enough with tools to trust myself to take them apart and put them back together. But I do enjoy looking at kitbashes and sometimes have some ideas. Does anyone think these could work

Red Alert head to Swerve to become Cliffjumper.

Swerve head to Rollbar to become Swerve, since the original was a truck and a lousy driver. So making him a sports car would be a bad idea

That would free up a Rollbar head for anyone who would want to turn Alt Op into Alt Trailbreaker.

The only catchy part is the ball & socket joints of the heads, which vary some from various characters. To make the ball smaller for the head the easy part is sanding it down slowly. To make one bigger, sand it down and layer on superglue or clear nail polish.

As for the suggested head swap, I love it! I plan on putting a Skids head on Prime for an Ironhide custom. I've put a Swerve head on Ravage and a Jazz head on Shockblast.

Wait, what did the original swerve look like? I don't remember?

As for head swaps, do not try to put Side Swipe on Smokescreen. You need to carve out half the head.

Ya I had some difficulty putting Grimlocks head onto Swerve's body. Good thing I was able to borrow my dad's dremel. Worked pretty good. To get Swerve's head onto Wheeljacks body I did the superglue trick, then layered some clear nail polish to get it snug.

You can really make some decent characters just by swapping out some heads and few small paint apps. Check out my Stunticon thread to see. Not the most artistic creations but they work, imho.

Alt Swerve's head is actually alot like G1 minicar Swerve

Meister on Wheeljack is one I did for a Jazz

and the resulting Wheeljack on meister's body for Downshift

bta Alert on Prowl and vice versa make much better versions of eachother

Also, just so ya know: RID Optimus Prime's regular-mode head socket fits on the Grimlock/Wheeljack ball joint.

I've always considered putting Swindle's head on Dead End

Dead end actually had a black head with purple visor on the cartoon. (but a gold mouthpiece/face mask)

wonder if it would be a simple swap or if the ball joints are different. I never wanted to try for the fact that:

    1) Dead End's head is glued shut and must be separated carefully.

    2) What would you do with a headless swindle and a Dead End head?

    3) If Trailbreaker ever comes out and has the same old head mold...

I must be one of the few who thinks Prowl looks good as the body he's is. Yeah, it's different, but it just works for me.

I really like Prowl. I do prefer the BT Prowl over Alt. Prowl but thats just because of that horrid baby blue on Alt. Prowl.

Maybe it's just me but I really like BT Alert the way he is. I can see why a lot of fans would have liked for Takara/Hasbro to have released the Subaru Impreza as Prowl, but I think it's the fact that the BT police Subaru Impreza made into Alert and not Prowl is one of the things I really like about the toy. Sometimes the unexpected is nice!

And just because X was that way in G1 doesn't mean it has to be that way forever, and I think BT Alert and BT/Alt Prowl are evidence of that. Binaltech/Alternators may have their roots in G1, but that doesn't mean they are trying to recycle and reproduce it.
