I've been thinking about buying a "three-in-one" Thomas the Tank Engine KO combiner, because my three-year-old nephew loves both Thomas and Transformers. Has anyone bought one of these? What do you think of it?

It's a worthless piece of crap (as is its designer), and the engines look nothing like the actual characters. Get your nephew something that isn't garbage. End of discussion. And if you see a store carrying it, report it to the Better Business Bureau.

Although there are multiple variations of it, none are sturdy enough to give to a three-year-old. And they likely all contain copious amounts of things you don't want in your nephew's body.

It's actually really cool and pretty good quality for a knockoff. I gave it to my son when he was four and it only broke when he accidentally stepped on it earlier this year and he's 6 now...

It is an insult to Thomas. I hope whoever makes it is shut down and made to pay hefty fines.

The Fireman Sam / Firetruck figure should also be taken in to account...

Don't forget about the postman pat one (I'd have gotten that one for myself if it were his original van)

Coming off a bit strong ZTS. Anyway I saw some in my local pound shop but they had removed the Thomas Likeness and replaced the scuplted face with a round plastic piece with a painted face on it. Shame.

Lol, somebody in this thread is a raging man-child Thomas enthousiast :lol

The reason the engines don't look like the characters is because the robot wasn't originally a Thomas themed robot. Somebody just had the brilliant idea to stick those faces onto the trains.

I bought that Poundland set and it's crap. One of the chest sides wouldn't lock in place and the limbs are all loose and fall off when just picking the robot up. The faces rubbed right off too. I chucked it on my carboot stall last weekend to get rid of it.

The mold is originally from Brave, if I remember rightly Dagwon Liner, but I know very little about Brave, so may have the wrong guy.

Aye, a mate's kid is Thomas daft, I strongly advised getting his kid one though as mine was made of thin easily broken plastic.

Some have said it is. But it basically just has a transformation scheme similar to liner Dagwon. For starters Liner Dagwon was a set of three bullet trains (not counting Drill Liner). Secondly each Liner Team member had their own robot mode (which these evidentally dont).
