What the heck was with Operation Breakdown? Mech left Breakdown's eye sitting there for the Autobot's to find. That's pretty creepy.

I thought the darkest thing so far was the Autobots leaving Starscream there to die in this last episode. It reminded me of The Punisher when he makes John Travolta's kid hold a bomb in his outstretched arm, until he got too weak to hold it up anymore at which point it exploded. I mean, damn. The Autobots now dispense Punisher justice...

Silas did say "I have to admit I was expecting Megatron"

the show is a bit dark on occasion & IMHO that is a good thing.

@jazzmasta32: yeah that could be considered uncharacteristically dark there.

I think people have been saying it was dark since Predatory. Arcee suffering some PTSD from the War, Airachnid mercilessly executing Tailgate, not to mention her collecting the heads of various species she slaughtered.

I think it is great, makes for well developed characters, good story telling, and a level of maturity that has not been seen in any other transformers tv show.

I've been watching all the episodes and didn't really hit me that some of the stuff going on might be a bit dark for a kids show until I was watching Operation Breakdown for a 2nd time.

I love the dark story. I just wish they'd allow a bit of unrealism and brighten the nighttime a bit. Dark story means nothing when you can't see anything.

I like the darkness of the series. It reminds me of the more mature turn of S3 of Animated.

Predatory, in particular, had shades of Thrill of the Hunt, infamous for squelching the haters of TFA who said the series would be too kid-friendly.

I was actually thinking thats what this thread was about when I read the thread title. It definitely gets too dark(in terms of lighting) at times as I personally have a hard time seeing a lot of whats going on in the show.

I don't think the tone is too dark. It's only dark when it needs to be. Some things you just can't gloss over or else it feels like Tom & Jerry where they stab each other but nothing bad happens.

But I''ll give Prime this: it's the first TF show in a long time that I've felt completely comfortable showing to friends and family simply because there's nothing embarrasing about it. It's mature in a respectable way and that makes it much more accessible to people I've noticed, while TFA and Armada had parts so childish dumb that it made some of my friends drop it instantly without a second chance.

I haven't found the show to be too dark so far. Definitely more mature though, which I've enjoyed.
