YouTube - Shocking Accident
I have to ask, why the fuck was he videoing that anyway... but yeah, lucky.
Here's what bothers me about that video... Why is he just randomly videotaping, while driving none the less, and manages to catch that? First of all, this dude would probably get ticketed for video taping with his camera phone for 40 seconds straight. Second, what would be the odds that would happen, especially when you are video taping absolutely nothing...
I echo this.
Summary! Aint got time for this youtube jibba jabba, i want my entertainment condensed!
It's 40 seconds long you lazy git
Fake. Obviously you'd be shocked if that happened, not just be silent. If it's real, he has to be very lucky.
I say its fake as well.
Ok i clicked it, how is this guy lucky? Hes windshield is totaled!
I want my 40 seconds back.
Well, to be fair, not everyone is "vocal" when something "surprises" them. I've seen people downtown where I'm at almost get hit by a car when they're trying to cross the street......some become very vocal afterwards. I guess the shock was too much that they weren't able to say or scream until afterwards.
But as for whether I think its fake or not....I don't know. I agree that it does seem kind of odd that this person would actually take time out of his or her way to film his or her drive down a freeway....let alone an otherwise very boring drive down a freeway. I kept going back and forth starting from 0:32 seconds when you first see the trailer in front of him/her run "something" over that caused the large piece of wood to fly at his windshield. If it was planned....then they pulled it off nicely. But then that would mean this person is an idiot for risking death just to put up a video on YouTube (IMO)......and someone needs to give Darwin a call.
As unlikely as it seems, this looks real to me. I don't see any telltale signs of fakery.
This is why I'd generally keep more of a distance, especially when there's traffic in both lanes.
I don't know about this, I mean wouldn't the shattering glass make a shattering glass sound?
It doesn't make sense that he was video taping himself driving. Either this person has serious techie issues or it is a fake. Very well done though I'll give him credit for that.
I've done that as a passenger. It wouldn't surprise me that people have done it as a driver. Doing it during at the same time as a freak accident is what makes it unusual.
This reminded me of something and it took me a while to remember exactly what, but it was that similar accident on DOTM, and someone in another car captured some of it. Granted, they had more of an understandable reason to be videoing, but no one expects the unexpected.
People are stupid. If anything, he was just recording for a roadtrip. It's his lack of reaction that makes me suspicious.
Recording a roadtrip, no reaction, and a very tiny entry point for an object that large, going at that angle.
I refuse to suspend my disbelief for that.
well out of curiosity I googled "smashed through windshield" just to see what kind of entry point something like that would make.
here's a similar accident:
It also turned up this:
Well....we now know its not fake....
