I am calling KO all over this guy:

Transformers Shockwave G1 MIB 1984 Hasbro! | eBay

What do you guys think? It's annoying as he does not mention anything about that at ALL.

I first saw his Sunstreaker and made me pause. I feel bad for the peeps that already bid on this.

Am I wrong? I mean, I see the silver screws right there too.

    Looks like a KO.

His feedback comments include someone that says "Knockoff crap".

Man, its such a shame that KO issues are ALL OVER the hobby these days. I wouldn't want to be a vintage collector just starting out at this point, you can't trust anybody. When I was new on the scene, at least KO's were typically identified as such. I can't understand why someone would try to pass off a KO as vintage of such a valuable figure on ebay of all places, its not like the buyer isn't going to file a claim for a refund once they get the item in hand and figure out that its not vintage. Just ID as a KO up front and avoid the drama, someone will still buy it.

The KO for botcon G2 breakdown was the main reason to cause me to sell mine (was not too hot on him to begin with)...but i figured once the G2 KO hit it would plummet the value of the legit one (and i got out from under mine about 2 weeks before the KO was on the street.

Well it's certainly not affecting the prices of the legit Punch/Counterpunch. Still going for more than $150. Makes you think though, the KOs are selling for about the price of the original one when it first came out. If Hasbro/FP wanted to stick it to the KO makers, they could decide to make another run.

What evidence are you guys using to determine if Shockwave is a KO? I have no experience of spotting G1 KOs.

I'm basing it on two factors. He has 4 auctions listed, and all 4 of them are toys that KO's exist of. Not likely to be a coincidence. If he had a non-KOed toy for sale in similar condition, I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. The other thing is the condition. Those boxes look just a little too good for 30 year old cardboard.

It's almost certainly a KO. The box is very pristine, and his other auctions have excellent boxes that are almost definitely KO's. If these were all legit, then their values would increase by 4 or 5 fold.

I have no problems with KO's, as long as they are identified as KO's. The moment someone tries to pass off a KO as a vintage piece, they cross the line in my book.

tried to ask question but the seller "does not accept questions on this item"... also, another give away is the silver eye rather than a yellow eye (but all that stuff is in the comprehensive KO spotting thread)
