One of my dad's friends was over today and he had his little 4 year old sons with him. Naturally, my room became a big showcase for them. So, I got a glimpse into what Transformers must look like to Hasbro's main audience

I can only imagine that this is what my room must've looked like 20 years ago :D

Reminds me of the time a friend of ours brought her whole damn family over. No casualties, but it took me two days to sort through everything.

thats why i dont let really little kids into my room...actually, the only kid i really do is my cousin quinn, but he's collecting now because of me, and he always asks permission before touching anything, and is always super careful with my toys...

Or you could play with the kids so they get to share your hobby and you can protect yourself.

I am not sure that I can say that kids are "bad" or "wrong" for wanting to play with toys. And TFs are more prone to break than just every other toy because if you don't know how to transform it, you simply have to try to move partsin ways that don't break. So a kid unable to figure it out may break it unintentionally. Adults do it too.

Looks like they had fun... lots of "pew pew" sounds were made I bet.

eh, he's a junker anyway. I found him in an abandoned shed. Cracked tires, no weapons or stickers, rusty joints

that was one of the fun parts. They'd ask me what it turns into, before I could finish transforming it, they'd already moved on to another figure!

the kids were energetic, but they didnt break anything, and I asked them not to touch the Alternators or the G1 (the expensive ones, I called them). They were just having fun, so I wasnt mad at them or anything. If anything, this was like a glimpse into parenthood

Eh, I let my nephew play with some of my TFs (nothing that would break easily) from time to time.
Anyways, I'm trying to ID everybody and I can't seem to figure out who is on the couch with Shockblast and Astrotrain... it almost looks like it could be Armada Starscream, but for some reason I just can't tell who it is.

luckily my collection was still in the beginning phases when my sister-inlaw brought my nephew over. They said he went to go touch something but stopped him. I think thats when MP Megs and Prime were still stationed in the living room.

I don't think I would have a problem if he came over now, I just know he liked to touch without asking. If I gave him something to play with he'd be fine. Thats part of the reason I keep some junker toys I was going to sell. They are still in good shape, but I just keep the better versions behind glass or on a shelf.

An older cousin's two year visited last Halloween and I made the mistake of not putting my collection out of reach. He immediately grabbed TFTM Deluxe '09 Camaro Bumblebee. The one that took me months to find and isn't the sturdiest figure. Fortunately I was able to retrieve him before any harm was done. It certainly made my heart miss a beat though.

I have nothing against kids playing. Toys are made with them in mind. I've seen the devestation he's caused to his own toys though. In a few years when he's older, I'll be happy to introduce him to Transformers. :)

It wasn't the ape that "blew it all up". It was men. Men fought a huge nuclear war, which decimated the world and left it open for the apes to evolve and take over. Well, at least that's the theory in the first one, before they made 4 sequels and mucked with the storyline.

My lower shelf has the broken, not-so-fresh bots that I let my son play with.

His favorite is the KO Constructicons in alt form. :)
