OPTIMUS IS KNACKERED AS WELL GRIMLOCK ALL WAYS HAS TWO FEET ON THE FLOOR WITH TWO ARMS IN THE AIR. DO ARMS COUNT AS HOOVES ??????? PLEASE SAY NO AND LET OPTIMUS LIVE
I like the Transformers one better, but then again I did enjoy the Transformers movie than I did Rise of the Planet of the Apes, I will however see the new movie if I have the money.
It's just similar because they are both riding something, apes have been riding horses since the original series just like Dinobots have been ridden since there original series. A ape on a horse with a machine gun might look funny but not if it was real life coming at you. Of course anything dinosaur sized breathing fire would be bad but Optimus couldn't really reach you on the ground. Ironically Marky Mark was in the Tim Burton Planet of the Apes movie.
I'm looking forward to both Dawn of the apes and Age of Extinction. Awesome posters for both of them.
A hero riding some sort of animal with a weapon in their hand raised above their head. My goodness why hasn't anyone else ever thought to use that for a movie poster before
i have always hated that aoe poster... yes the pose is cool and everything but the whole thing just feels messy and honestly its not a very good cgi rendering. I feel like the apes one makes more of an impact.
my god!! how did all those artists know about AOE poster all those years ago! Can anyone see a delorean in the background?! (Did you literally type "man on horse holding weapon high poster" into google? )
I know it's a common pose and everything, but I'm pretty sure they used it because Transormers used it. I haven't seen a poster with that pose in a long long time, and now that Transformers decides to use it, DOTA wants to jump in the wagon too. I may be wrong, but it's just what I think.
I'm guessing they used it because in the film there's a scene where Ceasar is leading the apes into battle atop a horse and as he leads the charge he holds his gun aloft and utters a battle cry. It's a very cool, iconic pose, repeated practically everywhere a beweaponed soldier sits astride a mount.
