Hello All, I recently started collecting again after selling off my collection and am focusing mainly on Cybertron. The fun part about this is that I have purchased most of my Cybertron figures on sale or clearance. The bad part is not being able to find some of the earlier figures. Does anyone here buy TFs only on sale or on clearance?
I try and wait to get figures that I'm only neutral about until clearance. Sometimes you miss out on stuff, but sometimes you score big big big.
Usually buy the clearance stuff for kitbashing. I wish I had the patience to do what your doing though , would save al0t lol at e9's sig
Soon he will want to get what he used to have back, and then he will want new stuff. Once a plastic crack junkie, always a plastic crack junkie.
If I figure that a line will go on for a while, I will try to wait on things that will go on sale. That being said, I have missed out on many things at retail for that reason...
: thaaat's it ... mooooooore. Cybertron --> Classics --> 20th DVD Prime --> Alternators --> Binaltech = screwed Cybertron Beast Repaints --> Original Colored 10th Anniversary Beasts --> TRU Leader Double pack = screwed 20th DVD Prime --> other Masterpiece figures = screwed Classics --> Reissue Soundwave --> TRU Reissues --> Takara Reissues --> eHobby --> Convention Exclusives = screwed Classics --> Any Energon that looks G1 (Superion, etc) --> Energon --> Energon Armada Repaints --> Armada = screwed sooooo many paths of destruction.
this one is the WORST. Classics --> Reissue Soundwave --> TRU Reissues --> Takara Reissues --> eHobby --> Convention Exclusives = screwed I started to collect the TFC's when #18 was newly released. I played catch up with 00-17, got into eHobby, and iced off the TRU's. It was a very dark period in my life.
With the exception of the Megs/Ops leader class figs, I only buy mainline TFS when they are on sale/clearance.
Once I saw the after market prices on the TFC prices I was so glad I went ahead and plopped down the money as each one was released. Got the whole set and never had to pay any crazy mark up prices. Same goes for the eHobby releases...though for whatever reason I passed on Astrotrain and the Minibot set...got everything else though! As far as convention exclusives go, I can only recommend that you stick w/ buying the toys from the actual conventions you attend. I broke that rule in 2005 when I ordered the non-attendee Botcon package since I had to cancel my trip to TX (and my consecutive Botcon streak) b/c of hurricane Rita. Otherwise, you'll drive yourself crazy (and broke) looking for and buying year's past items.
for the love of god stop reminding me of proto astro :| i passed up on him knowing that in my area the sales of ehobby repaints are slow...then he didnt even show up locally, shouldve nabbed him from singapore :|
