Last night around 7:30 my wife said she could smell wood burning, I went outside and the entire neighborhood was in a gray haze and it smelled just like a fireplace.

I hopped in the car and drove down the block to find the road closed off, you could see smoke billowing into the air.

My throat is killing me this morning (the smoke was THICK) and I could still see fire trucks parked on the street where it happened when I left for work this morning.

Luckily, no one was seriously hurt.

When I clicked the link, it partially came up, and it read 'Fire damages condom...' and I made the rest up as 'factory'

Which would have been a lot more funny. Glad no one got hurt!

That's the scariest thing about living in condos/apt buildings, if someones place sets on fire, then the whole damn building could burn.

Glad no one was hurt or that it did'nt roll over to your part of the neighborhood.
    *high fives the firemen*

huh? The article explains what it was.

    Is the link working right?

When I click on it it's an article about some condos (right around the corner from me) that caught fire.

What would be really crazy is if you started it.

What would be even crazier is if your kids did.

Big ups to the firefighters, though. This kinda fire is happening less and less, and it's good to see they still know how to deal with it.

I remember when I was in highschool someone set the office on fire over the weekend. Even though it was out by the time school started, I will never forget the smell of burned paint, wood and steel. Pretty nasty.

Glad noone was hurt, makes you grateful for what you have.

On a somewhat related note. The Carl's Junior near my house burned down a few weeks ago. Think of all those Western Bacon Cheeseburgers that never got to be :(

The headline reads, 'Fire damages condominiums', when I first clicked the link, for a second or two only 'Fire damages condom' came up at first, hence me making up the rest. So for that one brief second, a fire had damaged a comdom factory.

I blame my internet connection, its a cheap phone line with free Broadband, and their service is notoriously unreliable.
