Well, my Ace Combat:X UMD case is starting to split, any suggestions on how to, uh.... fix it? Be nice if sony could make replacement UMD cases but nooooooooooo they're all a bunch of butt dummies.
glue it. this is a big problem with PSP games. the white parts will seperate, and even the transparent window discs will fall out. a good way to try and prevent this is to buy one of those UMD storage shelves, that the disc just slides in, and slides out. putting a UMD in it's case, and taking it out over and over puts pressue on those very weak heat-sealed parts.
Take it to Wal-Mart. Tell them your grandmother bought it last week and it's broken. Tell them that you dont want your money back, you just need a replacement (adds honesty and a touch of sympathy to your argument), and they should replace it. But try the glue first.
They won't return it at Wal-Mart with glue on the case. Uh, and hopefully you won't need to commit a form of theft to get working/fixed.
if you glue it right (like I do) you won't see any glue. nobody can tell by looking at or handling my UMDs that every single one of them has been glued. Before I got rid of my PSP in may, as soon as I bought a new PSP game, I'd take the UMD apart myself, and glue it back together. that way I knew it wasnt going to come apart while in the system.
You'd be surprised what they'd return at Wal-mart. But yeah, use the Glue.. Valk's got it down. Speaking of which, the Slim came out today, I'm going to go trade in my PSP and see about getting that one. I want to play Silet Hill Origins on my bigger screen.... Bescause I'm too scared to play it otherwise.
I dont want to use super glue, they leave off fumes on plastic. My neighbor has a sort of adhesive that will actually melt plastic together, might be useful but I forget what the stuff is called. He uses it for his Warhammer 40k figures all the time though.
walmart will trade software for a copy of the same software with almost no hassle at all. when my wife got harvest moon ds she was pretty upset that the game was so glitchy so she tried returning it and instead they instantly gave her a new copy of the game and told her to try that instead. funny thing is they gave her back the receipt too so we just took it to another walmart and they gave us the money back. hahahahaha
I have seen a guy basically return trash to Walmart. He had a dirty, broken toy in a ripped box that his daughter 'didn't like'. He had no receipt but wanted cash back, they gave him the current sale price and he complained about that so they gave him a full refund. So, he brought his trash to Walmart and walked out of there with $40. Both. UMDs are proprietary Sony technology.
wal-mart will take almost anything. if we ever get a gift that we don't need, my wife and i just take it to wal-mart and go find the nearest price scanner. if it shows up then we take it to the customer service desk and usually there's no questions asked. worst case scenario you'll get a gift card for the current retail value instead of cash. with software though they'll probably just swap it for another copy of the same game.
Haha, I lol'd. "This cannot be! NO!" And isn't it ironic that a Symphony of the Night port will be on DXC for the PSP? When is there not a chance for you to bash Sony?
Haha, Emporers bowls was in the SOTN Intro too! Kidding, Kidding. Also, I agree with the glue suggestion if you can't get it replaced in any way. I'd go with that myself if I was in your situation.
