I was re-reading All Hail Megatron, and the issue with Galvatron, Scourge and Cyclonus (#15 I think?) got me thinking about the recently revealed Generations toy.

Do you think that Hasbro will recolour it as a character simply called Sweep, so that people can troop-build if they want to, or do you think that the eventual Takara release will fit the bill?

I know most of us haven't seen any pictures of it, but they'll be released at some point.

 

THERE IS NO NEED TO RECOLOR IT

just buy 4 scourges, in the original cartoon the sweeps were the same color as scourge, so there is no need to recolor it

 

All recent versions of the Sweeps have been recolours though.

The BotCon 2009 version and the ones that appeared in the issue of AHM I mentioned.

Besides it's an easy way for Hasbro to get more money from a mold.

 

that may be, but there is still no true reason to do it....if they do it, fine, but i'm grabbing 4 scourges.....i understand why botcon did it, for the same reason hasbro might, but i still think it is pointless

 

I'd hope for it having an alternate head and a new identity rather than one of Scourge's clone warriors, personally.

If you're looking for a Scourge with different coloring from his sweeps, let's see if Henkei returns.

lol, I just hope Scourges toy can match the awesomeness of Cyclonus.

 

I'll just hope to do the same thing I did with Cyclonus. Display the Henkei! release as Scourge, and use the American release as Sweeps.

Of course, this all relies on the Henkei! line picking back up.

 

So the con reports state that Scourge is a stealth jet. We have the JSF F-35B inspired Thrust/Breakaway(and a new repaint which I think is Apeface). Starscream has the F-22. Mindwipe is influenced by the F-117. Skystalker is a UAV.

So are there any more descriptions on how Scourge looked? As in how the wings look, et al?

 

Normally I'm not a G1 purist, and I like new interpretations of characters, but I admit I will miss Scourge's flying-bar-of-soap space-boat mode (even though a stealth jet makes faaaaar more sense). I guess Scourge was just one of my favorites as kid, because he was so unique; he had that weird, ambiguous alt-mode, he had wings, he was baby-blue despite being a villain, he was a robot with a moustache, and there were lots of him.... just such a cool, odd design and character idea. Although I guess in terms of the alt mode, the Titanium figure already sort of scratched that itch.

Well, hopefully I'll love this new one, too. While I didn't troop-build Cyclonus (since you never really see much of his so-called "armada" anyway) I am sure as hell gonna buy a half-dozen Scourges or so if he's decent.

 

Yeah, part of the charm of Scourge was his futuristic weirdness. That said, as long as he has his moustache I'm in. I'll kind of be sad if he's good because he'll make Universe Galvatron that much more depressing in that trinity.

 

I actually got 2 versions of G1 Cyclonus, but mainly because he had a blue eared variant. The armada did help justify buying 2 tho  

I agree on troupe building Scourge if he fits. 4 would be good enough for me, I like my Sweeps as a threesome.

 

I plan on buying at least 10 of them I want an army lol.

 

I just want one Scourge. Can you multi-purchasers save one on the pegs for me? lol

I don't think he'll need a repaint either. And I plan on buying at least 3 of him. If he does get a repaint, I'll buy one of those as
well.
