Try something new and challenging, like a Rubik's Cube(if you don't know how to solve) I felt really smart when I was used to be the only one at school that knew how to solve, and you can impress co-workers and challenge yourself to get better

Bring a Transformer or two. :p

Or if you're allowed, and have a Nintendo DS, get Clubhouse Games, by Nintendo. It has all sorts of card games; Solitare, Chess, checkers, etc.

    Presidents Rules!

I'd be playing DS, reading graphic novels, or doing homework. I love 3rd shift jobs. No boss. Little more laid back. Better crowd. No coworkers.

I'm a mechanic at a bowling alley, and I usually work the closing shift when we have leagues playing. Since most of the machines are running, and I don't really know much about them yet, I never have any real work to do other than catching quick problems that are extremely easy to fix. This leads to me having a good 50-70% of my 8 or 9 hour shifts where there is just nothing for me to do.

I pass the time with computer solitaire, minesweeper, and most recently, spider solitaire. We also have a stereo setup in the back and I have an audio cable to connect my iPod to it so I can listen to my playlists and cds instead of whatever is on the radio, if there's anyway you can just listen to an mp3 player with headphones or music on your computer at a low volume then I would definitly recommend doing that. If it's a constant stream of songs that you know and can sing along to you can usually get lost in the music without even realizing that an 40 minutes or more of music has gone by.

Take online college courses so that one day, you'll be the manager and ordering people to work third shift so they can wonder about what to do.

Run around the halls and knock on people's doors, then run.

In Texas we are no longer slaves to the numerical whims of the processed meat and bread conglomerates. Our hot dogs come in packs of 8, just like the buns.

I used to work late at a hotel.

Mostly, people on the third shift just get high and get into trouble. I'm not saying that's what you should do, I'm just relating what I've seen others in your situation do.

I did sudoku and raided the kitchen, mostly.

Take Classics Megatron with you and roll/dive around the hotel all James Bond-y, shooting invisible enemies whilst making 'Pyew pyew!' sounds.

Otherwise, I suggest either take a DS, or a portable DVD player.

Things I used to do at hotels/stores

-Have a doorbell sound effect on your cellphone, and play it over the intercom everytime someone walks through the door. Then play some crazy messed up yodeling phone tunes to drive them crazy once inside. Just keep a straight face when they look at you.

-You can also play small fisher proce toys that make 'boing' sounds over the intercom, but only to the customers footsteps. Keep a good rythm and they'll think they're walking on rubber

    -Just say "Olah" too everyone

-Whenever a chick walks out turn to everyone and say "That was my wife"
    Why, i dunno

    - Have someone tell the customers you all have a giant sliding board in the back now, and hide the back while yelling "wheeeeeeeeeeeee" loudly.

-Tell them your hotel sucks, and they're better off going other places.

-There's a cheesy elevator music version of "Cheers' ringtone out. Ask people their names, then when they walk away play that themesong over the intercom.

I should've just names this post 'fun with intercoms'

Just buy a DS/psp/remote control car
