    a few pieces I ordered from shapeways turned out to be thinner than expected in regards to thing like taps and gun handles. Would the "nail polish" thing still work for a situation like this, or is there a different method for the material I should use?

    Well I tried the polish and after like 5-7 coats (apparently I bought the wrong kind according to my wife), it worked.
