Are you talking about the live Year Without a Santa Claus with John Goodman and Delta Burke? I watch a little of it last year on NBC. It look like it was filmed during the summer.

That's what I was thinking as well. Who'd have thought they were doing a remake? I stand corrected.

You make it sound like the orginal ones had some inherit worth beyond their ability to pander to children and adults looking for a nostalgia trip. Hell, I remember when they made Frosty 2 and Rudolph's Shiny New Year. All of it was crap, even crappier than the originals. Along the way we got Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer and Christmas Comes to PacLand and He-Man and She-Ra:A Christmas Special and this all-time holiday abomination:

If Christmas could survive those, it can survive these turds. Stick with Charlie Brown and Grinch, and you'll be okay.

I wonder what ruins your other holidays....

    I watch the Charlie Brown.
I watch the Grinch (not that Jim Carrey turd)
and if i am really feeling like a Scrooge, I listen to Little Drummer Boy and then i am in the Christmas spirit.

and I AVOID the HOME ALONE movies. those are not Christmas movies

I hate christmas specials, I hope one day I make a christmas special that goes something like this:

"Oh noes! we've got to save christmas!"
"How do you save something that is already consumed by merchandising?"
    -Awkward silence-
"I guess you're right, it's not worth it."

The one the OP is talking about is a cg movie, early 2000 ish I think. Yea its not that good but it was made a while ago in computer effects terms. Some of the models actually weren't that bad, texturing and lighting were not top notch even for its day though, it is what it is.

Ah, okay. Yeah I was going to say "wasn't that done in the sixties? I got news for ya, but that's not computer animation. And the story is pretty much par for the time period." But now I see what he's talking about. Haven't seen this one, couldn't say one way or the other.

As long as he's not talking smack about our childhood memories, am I right?

    Holy crap that was boring.

Yeah, CGI Rupolph is hardly the worst X-Mas show ever.
