New Transformers Movie Gets the Science Badly Wrong
And in other shocking news, water is wet!
But who give a shit?
Me-thinks this guy should, ya know- watch the movie first before declaring the whole thing wrong.
hence why this movie is classified as FICTION
I actually noticed that the first time I watched the trailer, but it's the movies. Mythbusters has proved time and time again that some movie physics don't actually work in real life.
Also, in the article, the guy says "NASA could have just shut the feed off". Uh, isn't that exactly what they did? Obviously they had to BS the whole "lost feed" thing for the general public, but they never really lost communication with the Astronauts.
A science fiction movie uses fictional science? Absurd!
The thing is, it's quite obvious in the trailer they're not on the dark side of the moon, the Nasa operators just say they are.
I don't know. I usually hate nitpicking, but that seems like a farily significant inaccuracy. Especially given the whole film seems to be based around this concept.
A movie about alien robots that turn into vehicles gets science wrong? Wow.. the sheer nerve of it.
Oh NO!!!! I hope Michael Bay isn't stripped of the professor title he worked so hard for
Well, not really. There is a dark side of the moon. What they're saying is the moon doesn't rotate, so the same side is dark all the time.
So far in transformers history, the teaser trailers NEVER show footage from the actual movie. So really this is criticism of the teaser which will most likely have little to do with the movie. So let's just pass this off as "whatever".
The writer didn't pay attention enough.
The trailer doesn't say that they're on the dark side of the moon. In fact, their's a scene where they show the ship with the Earth up in the lunar sky. They're on the light side of the moon.
NASA's story was that the orbiter had gone around the dark side, causing a loss of communications. No mention is made of the lander being on the dark side.
The writer is basically assuming from the title that the ship was on the dark side- no such claim was made.
hmmmmm. I know it's science fiction but, I'm 14 and I knew that. Come on people don't be ******s! I bet watching the trailer for the first time they were like Do'h!
Fictional science...in my sci-fi movie?
Hey, if Power Rangers can have a moon that has normal gravity and a breathable atmosphere, Transformers can get away with a moon that has wacky physics too.
I'll be waiting for the next article he writes up explaining how Mission City isn't a real city....
Just because Walter Cronkite says they are on the darkside of the moon, it doesn't mean they are there. That's just what the media was told and the truth is the signal was cut or simply incrypted to prevent interception and the truth of the mission be out.
How we know it's there if we can't see it? Well we have had NBE1 for a while. Perhaps studying him.
Like I said in the article's comment section:
Its called dark of the moon because NASA lied to the press and said that for that time that they Lost communication with the Astronauts they were on the other side of the moon when really in that time they were exploring the wreckage of an autobot ship.
The name has nothing to do with the actual dark side.
The idea is that they landed on the moon, and had to walk across the moon to the side of the moon that does not reflect the suns light, impossible!
Separate names with a comma.
