There's probably concept art we still haven't gotten.

I can guarantee that there's concept art we haven't been shown.
I don't mean the drawing like ones, I mean the models, like these:

So I think of characters... Like Jolt, Wheeljack, Mirage, Skids, Mudflap... Brains, Sideways, all of these guys who we just have drawing concept of.
If we ever do get such images, where do you think they would be released?

Honestly, I doubt we'll see the 3D models of every. single. character. used in the trilogy until either a.) an extremely (and I mean otherworldly) extensive artbook/making-of book is released or b.) The 50th anniversary of Michael Bay's Transformers films is celebrated and they pull a Star Wars/Jurassic Park and re-release them with even more bonus material.

There is a ton of concept art that literally will never see the light of day, since it has already been discarded. There was so many concepts and iterations developed for the TF movies we'll probably be seeing stuff for years.

I do wish that Paramount & Hasbro could get together and issue a big coffee table book with nothing but the concepts and other bits of art for the Movie series. Three movies in, there would be no lack of material nor lack of people willing to put down money to own a copy.

I posted about this on another board: I really want to see art of the Xanthium, esp. as joined to Discovery. Either actual CG renders or just concept art. Gimme.

Thanks man, I got that already.
I meant more of a complete model of him, like that Ironhide you posted.

It does seem amazing to me that such a production artbook, or series of artbooks, has never been released for the BayFormers movies. Just this small handful of pictures and discarded concepts is so compelling.
Is time running out to do it though? With a possible new direction being taken for TF4 would it be deemed relevant enough to release now? Sure lots of TF fans will buy it but the general public will be looking to the new re-imagining or whatever it is rather than dwell on the 'old' live-action movies.

I don't think time is running out, I mean, they could release it decades from now and still fit the trend of artbooks. Though I agree, striking while the iron is hot now would seem to be smarter.

I'm surprised it hasn't had a larger prominence in DVD extras and the special trilogy pack though.

Yeah, that's probably more what I mean. And maybe getting it before TF movie fatigue hits the population.
And also I agree that it's odd that with such an effects-heavy movie that more of that kind of stuff hasn't featured in the supplimental material of the disc releases.

Besides a Prime with a trailer that transforms into the weapons depot/jetpack we saw in dotm, an artbook for the movies is my most wanted piece of TF merchandise right now.

I was so goddamn excited for the one that was going to come out in summer of 09, but it was cancelled! That was sad for me. They could easily fill entire artbooks with just stuff from rotf or dotm. I dunno if all the art from tf07 could fill a book, but the point is they have a ton of stuff they could give us for sure! For now we have to collect and save scraps here and there that are screenshots from dvds or stuff from the artist's websites :(

Why they haven’t released an art book yet is beyond me. Now is the perfect time, as they can put all three films in one book, like they did with the LOTR films. Quite ridiculous that nothing has been released thus far.

Michael Bay probably figures his fans "don't read much".

If it doesn't explode then Bay probably isn't that interested.

There probably were art books made for these movies that were personally assembled by Bay but they all exploded on the way to stores. :p

"You know how there's those pop-up books? Well check this out! I call them Blow-up books. basically in each centrefold page I've inserted a small explosive charge that'll mimic the explosion the page is showing! It's like, 3D plus an extra D, man! YEAH! :bay "
"But... but... don't people read with books close to their face? And won't they want to read a book more than once?"
"Money talks, my man, they can just go and get another one! Yeah! :bay  Hear that? that's the sound of profit. Profit and firecrackers, buddy!"
