I'm not sure he could if he tried.

    G1Decepticons,

The tracking cookies aren't really all that much to worry about. You can't help but pick those up every once in a while, unless you have your browser set to reject cookies altogether.

In any case, you should go to Ad-Aware by Lavasoft - Antivirus software, free spyware removal, firewall and download the latest version of Ad-Aware. Follow the installation instructions, let it scan your system, and then follow its recommendations. Also, it wouldn't hurt to install Spybot S&D from The home of Spybot-S&D! and do the same thing. If you want free virus protection, there are a couple of programs out there. I use AVG. But if you want to use that, you're going to have to un-install McAfee, which you should probably do, since you don't want to pay. Update your anti-virus definitions at least once a week. Probably wouldn't hurt to make sure you've got all your Windows security updates too.

Then you should take a nap, because that's a lot of brain power spent.

I use a combination of AVG Anit-Virus and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on my computer. These two programs work wonders and are free downloads on the internet.

And one other thing- if you are using Internet Explorer, don't.
Speaking just for me and about 8 others that live around here, we've had all kinds of problems with IE until we dumped it and went with FireFox (or something better).

Bleach your computer. Wear gloves while using it. Could be contagious.

I use SuperAntiSpyWare, Spybot Search and Destroy, MalwareBytes and have Avast as my antivirus and Zonealarm as my firewall. It seems to work well.

If you are having real difficulties, places like BleepingComputer.com have forums you can post in to get free advice, it takes a while (i.e. days), but it's free and good. They helped me sort out my comp when it was infected with a google redirector nothing could pick up, let alone remove. If you post there, do follow their instructions for what to do and don;t do anything until you're asked, as you might bugger up the computer more...

Water-cooling your computer actually goes a long way towards eliminating viruses. Just turn off your PC, soak it in cold water for a few hours - the colder, the better - and let it dry for at least 3 days. Then, try turning it on - you should see no viruses whatsoever.

This works! I did it on my last computer. After the treatment all the viruses were gone, but the infection must have damaged it irreparably as it started on fire the next day.

Soak it before it gets really bad is the moral there, I think.

    This.

And Malwarebytes get rid of stuff that Ad-Aware couldn't normally find.

All I use is Malewarebytes, and sometimes Avast. But I use to use AVG, Ad-Aware and Spybot, but stoped after they wouldnt get rid of some very harmfull viruses. Also Nortan and McAfee suck, versus using Malewarebytes. I seen this first hand helping others PCs. And Firefox is also prone to get viruses, the ones I helped with thier PC used Firefox and I just got one the other day too.

What you should do is get Malewarbytes, throw your PC in Safe mode, hold F8. Then Go to your explorer>tools>internet options>browinsing history, delete it all. This will help the Malewarebytes to scan faster, Also deleting your history will also get rid of some crap viruses can add, temprory fake home pages and such. Do the same with Firefox if you have it.

Then run malewarbytes full scan. take about a hour or maybe more, depending size of your pc and speed.
    hope this helps

Bah.. Firefox isn't any safer than IE. If I remember right, Firefox had more security vulnerabilities than IE in 2009.

THIS but in all seriousness, the easiest thing to do would probably be to reinstall the operating system. Just back up all your info to an external hard drive.

What kind of Virus is it? I'm working on my sisters PC right now because she had the "Hey, I'm anti virus and you have a million Virus on your computer! pay me!! oh and buy the way, if your into Girl on girl, click here"

Its called XP police or something like that. The reinstall worked but my sister is done with windows and switching to a Mac.

Switch to a Mac - :rolleyes2  It'll be a cold day in virus-occupied hell before I ever do that.

One of these days some hacker will actually give a shit about Macs and bring them all down.

LOL, that is never going to happen because Mac's will never become the Majority Computer used in the world. I'm not going to say "Macs will never get a virus" because they will and do. Don't fool yourself, I know those torrent copies of photoshop were littered with Mac Viruses.

However, hackers don't target Macs or Linux based operating system because only a few people use them compared to PC's. If for some reason, Mac's became the number 1 used computer in the world, that would change immediately.

With that said, I'd rather be with the machines not under fire by hackers.
