Hey all, I thought it would be a good time for a quick reminder and reality check for everybody unclear of the pricing trends for transformers. Lets go back two years: http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-news-rumors/217087-wal-mart-raises-price-deluxes.html Any of that sound familiar? It's the same stuff were seeing in alot of newer threads right now. It seams that every January some collectors just forget that the last 2 or 3 months of $7 to $9 dollar deluxe figures were a SALE price. The suggested retail price of deluxe toy is around $12 and has been for several years. See Hasbro's site:Transformers 2 Revenge of the Fallen Movie Toys, Games, Video Games - Official Transformers Product Catalog You will notice even ROTF toys had a retail price of $12.99 even though none of us paid $12.99 when Rotf toys came out. Why didn't we pay that price? Competitive pricing during a time of high demand when retailers are more concerned about volume then per unit profits. High demand periods such as a holiday season or maybe the launch of a blockbuster movie. It is this same reason you will not pay the retail price when DOTM toys come out. I understand nobody wants to pay more for something if they can avoid it. However, let's maintain some perspective and accept that $12.99 is the price of Deluxes and has been for a while. If you can find it for less um...buy it.
