I had both at one time and they are the same except for the colors and the instructions. Galvatron has a few extra modes detailed in the instructions but both can do the same modes. I sold Galvatron and kept Megatron.

I have Jetfire he's great:)  the redecos except Treadbolt are all worth getting but they're expensive. I have RiD Galvatron but I'd rather have the Black Megatron.

I don't think Treadbolt is that great, at least not enough to get for anything more than retail.

The only redeco of Jetfire that I think is worth getting is Henkei Skyfire.

Well I think I'm going to pass on Tread Bolt.

Moving on, how about ROTF Rampage? Is the Takara version really that much better looking for $40 as opposed to $9 yellow Hasbro version?

I pick up any and all repaints of whatever series I collect. Some are harder to come by and will wait a bit for the market to dip. That said, Treadbolt gives my Jetfire row a Macross feel with that whole Max Sterling look to his paint scheme. That, and I'm a repaint whore.

    Ebay:
I think any of the red RotF Rampages look better than the yellow one since he's actually red in the film and not yellow. The only problem with each is 1. the Takara version is expensive for a deluxe due to being an import, though they did a nice job on the figure making it more screen-accurate, 2. the Hasbro stand-alone red repaint was hard to come by in many stores so for all I know that may also be a bit expensive than a normal deluxe on eBay now, plus the paint aps are nowhere near as extensive as on the Takara red repaint, and 3. the Rampage Among the Ruins version is similar to the Takara (though not exactly the same, judging by the pics)...but you have to buy the three-pack to get it.

Probably a decent decision, I have it because I love the mold and have been trying to get every version of each classics mold (damn me for not being into Transformers enough for 07-08 Botcons). The colorscheme is odd to say the least. Little less brown would have made it a lot better for me.

I would suggest getting the Dark Skyfire version if you like the mold. It is starting to get really cheap at places like BBTS, and is a nice contrast to the original Jetfire/Skyfire.

Wish I could answer your ROTF Rampage question, but I only have the first two Hasbro versions (still have to get the 3-pack version from a local boardie). There are some nice details on the Takara version, but for $30-40 I havent been able to bite myself. The mold is marginal at best for me, so I am happy with the Hasbro versions. IIRC the person who did the feedback thread took some pretty good photos with a good discription.

Yeah, but the yellow one only formed part of Devastator.

He never transformed into a robot...the red Rampage is the more screen accurate 'robot'.

Yes, the red Takara version is better than the yellow Hasbro one.

I think the Cyro deco looks more interesting, although the normal one was the one in the show. Depends on whether you prefere screen-accuracy or nice-looking-ness, to invent a term.

I don't really care from the Armada trilogy. There are just a handfull of figures I like.
