The question pops in almost every discussion about popular figures with repaints.

    "Which version is better?"

I was going to ask this about Classics Jetfire repaints in another thread, but then I thought it might help if we had a thread dedicated to discussing and comparing repaints and originals. It would make it simpler for us to help each other find an answer.

Now, on to my question. I recently recieved Classics Jetfire in a trade and he's my new favorite Transformers figure. He's almost a set of gun that with a figure as an accessory. It got me wondering about Tread Bolt though, is he worth having if I've got Jetfire?

Also, I was wondering which version of RID Megatron is better? Megatron or Galvatron? Are both worth having, or should I picked one over the other?

i only got treadbolt because i didn't get ahold of jetfire.....lets just say i got bored with it and it is being used for a custom, not that the figure is bad, it is the colorscheme makes me turned off of an otherwise great figure

he is not worth it i should say.....i still want jetfire

Treadbolt is nice, but not better than Jetfire in my opinion.

    I prefer Galvatron/Devil Gigatron to Megatron/Gigatron.

I've got Henkei Jetfire and Treadbolt. Jetfire is a million times nicer but Treadbolt is different enough to warrant owning if you are a fan of the mold. Also, as long as you can get past the fact that he has brown on him.

I've got both Jetfire and Treadbolt. I bought Treadbolt mostly because I had the micromaster as a kid and the mold does look pretty nice in those colors. It's not stellar so I wouldn't say it's a must buy, but if the price is good then go for it.

I sold Henkei and Classics Sky/Jetfire and have only kept Dark Skyfire. I was tempted to pick up Treadbolt, but the high price a voyager figure commands here prevents me from getting repaints of that size.

I have neither version of RiD Megatron, but when I'm getting one eventually I'll go for the "devil" white one. Simply because he was badass in the show.

I have classics Jetfire and Dark Skyfire. I think Dark Skyfire wins out as my favourite of the two, simply because the colour scheme screams "I am an evil so-and-so".

Of my MP seekers, I think Takara Skywarp is my favourite, also largely due to the colour scheme. I like my Hasbro SW, too, Takara looks cooler.

Classics Nemesis Prime looks better than Optimus or Ultra Magnus, too.

I think the colour scheme on RoTF deluxe Dead End is better than the original Sideways deco, too.

There seems to be a pattern emerging here...

Go for the Devil Gigatron/Galvatron version. I believe there was some very slight remolding done to acheive one of the additional alt modes. I have both and when I tried to put Gigatron/Megatron through all 10 modes a very small piece of plastic broke off. Then again that could have just been mine.

Over all I think the Devil Gigatron/Galvatron has the better paint job.

Do you have Botcon 2005 Deathsaurus?

I think he's the best version of the mold, but he's hard to come by now.

Failing that, i'd go for Galvatron - nicer paint, plus he's got the extra modes that Megatron doesn't.

This. I love my Botcon Deathsauras.

I also think Dreadwind is the best looking of the Jetfire mold.

I don't think Treadbolt is that worth it if you already have Jetfire unless you're looking to troop build. If you can find agreat deal for it and love the mold it may be worth it for you though.

On the plus sides of it, Treadbolt does have a novel and distinct color scheme.
I also have Dreadwind and Dark Skyfire. Dark Skyfire's color scheme is AWESOME.

I just got a Botcon Deatsaurus and agree, it's pretty damn badass.

I have Classics Jetfire, Treadbolt and Exclusive Dark Skyfire. All are great in my opinion and I will be keeping all of them. Treadbolt is worth picking up IMO. He's different enough from the others plus I like his blue jet mode. I use Treadbolts weapons on Jetfire. I paid retail for him $19.99 towards the end of the run. I wanted to get him at retail so I wouldn't have to pay a mark-up. I may not have picked him up if had I waited and had to buy him online somehow. That being said I still would recommend him, just try and get one for cheap.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there no difference between the two molds as far as the transformations?

In simplicity, can't you transform RID Megatron into the same modes of RID Galvatron.
