Just saw the first episode, no sound though, but this was really depressing, I'll watch next weeks episode if I can, but I really hope its not as sad. Poor horse got eaten by the goddamn zombies .
I thought the graininess added to the atmosphere of the show Dude have you read this book? As good as it is it's probably the most depressing thing I've ever read. I suggest you don't get attached to anything in this series if your upset that easy. In fact, just don't watch it.
Already decided not to watch it, once episode 2 airs, if thats worse than the first, I'm off this show.
Did you watch in on your computer and a small screen? On a large television (my computer is hooked up via HDMI to my television) it was not anywhere close to DVD quality and was out of sync while occasionally skipping frames. (I am almost completely certain that all of the pre-releases from the various groups come from the same source, so there is no real difference between them.) Anyhow, I guess opinions on quality are subjective, but in mine, the download wasn't worth watching.
Caught the pilot at the worldwide amc private premier last night. I liked what I saw, despite disliking the trailer... and I agree with Pravius. That scene I thought was unnecessary and revealed surprises that occurred in the comic. I understand they want to start introducing some of the other characters, but even Rick hearing Glenn's voice in the tank is ruined because we know that there are actual survivors out there...
I agree that showing the other survivors didn't work as well as if it was left as a suprise. Oh and bumblebot98, if you found this episode to depressing you should deff not watch anymore eps lol.
TODAY IS THE DAY! The early reviews I have seen for the first two eps have been very positive. And that's heartening seeing as it's the pilot. It can only get better.
HOLY SHIT!!!!! SEVEN AND A HALF HOURS LEFT!!!!!!! Must... keep.... bladder.... under.... control.....
I am speechless. This show captures what a zombie apocalypse should be. Depressing and intense. All the scenes were handled amazingly, with great acting and surprisingly good effects for a TV series. I vote this by far the best show of the year for me, and is already in the top 5 of all-time for me. I have not been this impressed with a show since the Clone Wars TV series in 2008. Just sad that there only 5 episodes left. I'll enjoy them all though. Wow, turns out I feel speechless but have a lot to say. Gotta love oxymorons.
I knew this could be done well. All they have to do is keep it up. Nice blend of from the book and extra. I was surprised they did the Shane/Lori reveal so soon. I eagerly await next week. I have read that this season is to be six episodes. If this is so, where does that leave the remaining episode count?
Not a horror/gore/slasher fan at all but this was nicely done. I look forward to seeing the rest of this series. Did Jim (think it was the Deputy's name) know the lady by the bike? Just seemed like he did when he stopped and talked to her for a few minutes...
As far as I remember from the comics, no he didn't know her. But she was his first real encounter with a zombie, you know how it is, you never forget your first time, they always hold a special place in your heart. BTW his name is Rick.
So yeah. That was pretty much amazing. The few minor nitpicks I had with the trailer were absent in the final ep. Like the scene of Rick shooting the zombie deputy through the fence, that scene was shot different, for the better. The people making this are doing it out of love, and it shows. Bless the cast and crew.
