    Damn, that's awesome.

Although, the acronym for NEST is LAME. I like National Extraterrestrial Systematic Trials.

At least we finally know what NEST stands for.

Awesome excerpt. Can't wait to read this book when it comes out!

Looks like a solid read. Good thing its only a prequel excerpt or I would have spoiled myself on a bit of the movie from the actual movie novel.

very cool. i too loved Ghosts of Yesterday. looks like a very solid read. and only 288 pages of good writing and action and comedy.

“You and your ‘left cheek.’ Man, when are you going to learn that sitting on that thing is going to give you back problems later in life?”

classic. after i read the line before that i started cracking up.

Is this the novelization of the comics? I'd be more interested in that.

    :lol

And next comes Ratchet's snark about terrorizing smaller creatures.

The Epps/Lennox byplay was good too.

Like others, I enjoyed "Ghosts", even if the actual novelization was a bit off. I hope this time it is more movie-accurate. In-between/off-camera scenes I don't mind - but ones that are obviously changed or dialogue... grrr.

Nah, it's not based on the comics. Alan Dean Foster said on his blog that he wrote it so it would not conflict with The Reign of Starscream, though a month later he said he had been asked to make significant revisions. Hopefully he had been asked to take Alliance into account, rather than the publisher telling him to contradict the comics to suit their purposes.

I don't think writers of the supporting fiction have much of a choice, given they are basing their stuff upon an outdated version of the script. The movie people can change the script during filming, change dialogue, add, change or drop scenes in post pretty close to release date.

As a (would-be) writer myself, I'm curious as to why you think it's poor writing?

I am very much looking forward to these two books by ADF. I just don't understand why there isn't a larger expanded universe when it comes to Transformers novels. I'm an avid reader and I really can't get enough. Seems like there is no shortage of decent SF authors. Come one people!! I want more.
