Shadowland was my jumping off point as well!

My favourite thing Bendis did was Alias and I still have the complete run of that (if anyone wants it give me a shout, I am evidently trying to get rid of most of my physical comics).

His Daredevil run dragged out the gritty real stuff for too long. Stripping away the Daredevil element to focus more heavily on Murdoch's issues is fun in doses but as it went on for so long it became less and less of a superhero book and all the fun had been sucked out of it. There were so few lighter moments to alleviate any of the grittiness. His ideas were good for a year or so, but I swear it went on for like 5 and it was far too long for me.

It wasn't my jam. The Alex Maleev artwork was incredible though.

This thread makes me press like on almost every post. Shit morning, Parcel still adrift in the Italian Postal Service, car due its MOT and at least in here it's nice pics and debating the quality of DD runs. That's a tonic right there.

Agree on Nocenti - I think She does get some credit now for what she did which was pretty much rescue DD from the prospect of "No One Wants To Follow on from Miller!" And I liked that.

No postal Robots and I'm not actually expecting anything for a while now which will be novel, so this afternoon will be forgetting this morning, posing Rioter and avoiding going in the Rioter Thread where some mush has one-upped me putting the Miner Megs head on it by slicing and dicing a face transplant while keeping the awful pointy helmet......which kind of defeats the object and looks terrifyingly bad. And I don't have the heart to break that to him/her/it/whatever.

Keep going Sweet Thread, keep going.

    Pretty much my thoughts too.
I'll add that Brubacker was boring (Prison stuff was ok, much cooler than anything post season 3 "OZ" anyway) (and Dakota was alright here and then. Would have been nice in a non-DD book actually).
Oh and as much as I don't like Bendis, his UM Spidey stuff when coupled with Immonen, Lafuente, and Pichelli, were pretty cool. The best Spidey since... Roger Stern.
Homecoming reminded me of them a bit (and strangely reminded me of Revenge of Shinobi but that's a post for later).

Finally got some shelving up last night, display subject to change but I'm unlikely to clutter it, maybe just the LSOTW Wreckers on the top and Downbeat where he is.

I am a fake geek boy with my lack of comics knowledge. :lol

I really liked his Daredevil and loved Alias too, but that is pretty much my comics bag. People with extraordinary powers living their extraordinary lives that still have many relate-able parallels to ordinary life. Love me a nice slice of life story, and people in them having powers make them all the better.

Urgh! Yet another corporation paying lip service to the worker's rights & conditions while willfully ignoring the spirit of said legislation, understaffing the folk doing the actual grunt work so some twat further up the pyramid can have an overinflated wallet to match his unjustified opinion of himself. You do right.

    He most assuredly will!

The Bru is an excellently proficient writer but everything I've read of his never quite has the 'oomph' of some other writers, his characters though well-crafted seem rather stock or uncharismatic, his narrartives not quite emotionally involving enough.

Any vampire-bat-robot-toy is a good one by my reckoning. Also skull things

Is this that DX9 doodar by the way?

As promising as the DX9 version looks, there's no f'ing way it's going to trouble the FT version. I can see literally nothing (visually) I don't love about this. And I don't give two craps for Omega. But this really is next level robotix

Ah man that is amazing. I know your sold out, but if you ever do a second run, I'd be interested!

I think in hindsight the need to accommodate combiner pegs created limitations for how awesome the figures could be. While TR figures benefitted from having removable heads, because that was one less thing needed to be hidden in alt mode.

Fireflight was the best CW Deluxe Aerialbot ;) . Silverbolt is my favourite Torso overall.

I will be very shocked if they don't use POTP Starscream instead of Skylynx for the Torso.

Yeah... sometimes I think 'Christ I've clicked like too much, this guy is going to think I'm stalking him'

Yikes. It looks awesome. Not out until March though, so time to mull it over?

I just boiled 120000 words or so down into a 600 word synopsis. That was not a fun experience.

Now to reward myself with tea and cake!

I'm kind of hoping that Takara don't do their POTP stuff in box sets this time around. I'm good with the CW LK limbs, just the torso needs sorting. I say that, but as soon as its announced I'll probably find myself screaming into the wind they are all necessary buys...
