Argh! Why'd you have to post this. I only want Metalhawk and this is insanely tempting
I missed your post yesterday @Brum Bot, head buried in Photoshop and taking kids to Doctors.
Now, I think it's been covered, but firstly just go through your Insurers, it's why you pay them. You 'may' have to cough up your excess but considering this is 100% not your fault (and the fact the guy tried to do a runner) your company will be able to get the money back. Also, you may not have to cough up your excess at all, seeing as this was 100% not your fault. The fact he's Romanian and his insurance company are overseas? That's not YOUR problem, it's YOUR INSURER'S problem.
Also, if it is purely cosmetic and not much to repair, it's possible you can repair it yourself and then get that work appraised/checked out by a garage that's accredited to your insurers and then claim that initial outlay back? Again, your insurers will get that money off HIS insurance.
Besides, he can't legally be driving in the UK without being covered. If that is what he's doing then what he faces (for being a knob) is being barred from driving in the UK again. So y'know, go through the proper channels. It's why we all pay for vehicle insurance and why the system is there.
Apologies, @Brum Bot, kept meaning to commiserate on your awful driving experience. Very glad it didn't get more serious bloody copshop as useful as ever, eh? Hope you get it sorted relatively painlessly with @scamper's and @tikgnat's advice!
So, as the goop is working out of my chest, now the back of my sinuses are starting to feel all first signs of cold again, and it can sod right off, here's some Vick's First Defence to go with the salt gargling, you Motherlicker!!!
Hang in there, Liam, I might be a guinea pig for a less expensive way shortly!
(Unfortunately, if it works I am keeping Metalhawk.)
Sterling work on the calendar @tikgnat, looks absolutely stunning and.. aha! November is the month of Napalm again.
Misers are sexy!
@Skywarp SCS and @incapable hulk
That's where I got my Siege set. I know dodgy eastern ebay scams are a worry but this was fine.
Continuing yesterday's theme of dodgy but brilliant TR Voyagers/'Cons from 1988...
I feel like I'm never going to get the Alpha Trion I want. Perhaps I'm all the cliches of the hoary old G1'er that just wants things how he remembers them, but this guy just doesn't look a bit like any Alpha Trion I ever knew.
That said, as a toy it's got a shedload of nutty charm. A lion that turns into a spaceship and a barbarian looking robot? Yeah, I mean that is cool. Definitely. There is a certain blocky inelegance to him that makes him stand quite apart from the other TR Voyagers, with his chest almost being an oversized square shoved onto dinky little limbs, but he kinda gets away with it.
These lads though! I actually don't think there's owt dodgy about these. I actually always really liked the inner robots on all the Pretenders I saw as a kid. The only one of these I saw as a kid was Submaruader, which is a pity because Bombburst and Skullgrin are fucking fantastic. The Decepticon Pretenders always (with maybe the exception of Longtooth) has the best outer bodies/shells.
It depends on the Father.
If it's all fathers then it should be Fathers Day.
If it his father then it should be Father's Day.
you know what I totally didn't see the "bday" when I wrote that. Still a little grammar for everyone on Thursday morning!
If it's all fathers and possessive, shouldn't it be Fathers' Day? Grammar wise that is.
I always understood it to be singular and referred to as Father's Day.
All the best
Thanks @nice sideburns @tikgnat and @Seeaich.
Kit I hope the kids are feeling better soon and hope you're on the mend soon Chris!
Had a look again at the damage again yesterday afternoon after calming down, alloy is completely ruined as well so have decided to go through insurance now. Plus I've woken up this morning and my left shoulder genuinely feels tender as well.
What a ball ache.
On a positive note the calendar is lookung cracking and glad to see some OSKOEOP love on there!
Is that Huff v1 or v2? How do you find him? Really tempted by his colours...
I love TR Alpha Trion. He's a weird purple spacelion, which makes me happy. I totally agree that he's not a good Alpha Trion, though. He really ferls like he was intended to be a different character, but Hasbro got cold feet and slapped a familiar name/colour scheme on him.
He'd have made a great Generations Thundertron. We don't have enough robot pirates.
I started with the Takara versions of Skullcruncher, weirdwolf and hardhead then picked up Hasbro stuff and now im sitting a load of Takara pre orders bloody hell its a circle of love
Ok, non-transformers but still toys weird request time: Does anyone have the Avengers/Captain America Goliath Assault Tank? Fits 3.75" figures, is red and dark blue. Obvs.
It's the V1 (Cubex Huff)
I like it, it's nicely posable and has two good looking modes. A nice figure only let down by the robo-psoriasis, which thankfully on mine has been quite minimal.
Definitely prefer how it looks over the newer version. The newer one has smoothed out a lot of the detail from the V1.
Yeah I'm with you, Kev. I prefer the look of Cubex Huff over the newer version, and the flaking paint was the main reason I moved mine along too. Just pictured it getting worse over time.
I have not been sent a BadCube product since Speedbump, and I have not felt the urge to purchase any either. I think the only one I have left now is Blaze, and I suspect I'll be moving that on if TakaraTomy announce a red repaint of MP-39.
All the best
Yeah, Baducbe are a funny one for me. I've had/have a lot of their bots but moved some of them on fairly quickly. If i was being honest i think Sunsurge is the only one that they really nailed, and that i enjoy transforming and playing around with. Posability is great.
There always seems to be something a bit fiddly/annoying in the transformation that puts me off.
These guys come to mind:
Wardog - That damn rail that the shoulders are on
Brawny/Backland - Getting the arms folded up in the right position in the cab
And speaking of Badcube, this was a slightly more successful pic i took last night.
Drinks! (just don't ask what Gears is pouring...)
Was trying out some of the suggestions from the photo talk last week (mainly playing with iso) and i'm not quite getting as clean results as i normally get. Going to have to spend a bit more time going back and tweaking settings.

EDIT: Actually, this is another thing that Badcube dropped the ball on. Why does this not come with a toy head???
The one thing surer than Death and taxes next year is that that mold will be getting that repaint, and probably the police deco too. The only problem I would have with that is the price, if MP39 stays as the new CarBot price point repaints/Diaclones will be off my menu - and I would be sticking to Blaze who is fine for all intents and purposes anyway. At £90 a throw I can get over not having TT on the box pretty quick. Skids and Jazz may be the only MPs I actually go for at that price.
And speaking of pricey - that's another £95 chucked on the bonfire to pay up MMC TryingTron (I'm sick of them all getting called Tyrant) and that's the fun budget exhausted for another few weeks.
funny thing with 3p's - I used to be eager to see the latest silhouettes, and would splurge money incessantly on them, but since MP Inferno, I've been more than happy to bide my time for the official version - don't get me wrong, I love Hellfire & Wrestle as toys, but for cartoon accuracy, the MP's are hands-down winners - only 3p that gets me interested any more is Iron Factory ( cos tiny bots with a bajillion accessories makes me smile) - genuinely excited to see what MP's we'll be seeing in the near future ( *flagrant speculation! - surely if the POTP dino's do well, it's only a matter of time until we see the rest of the MP dinos? *speculation ends*)
Punched in the gut this morning by the news that Grant Hart has died. No band has influenced my musical tastes more than Husker Du. Fuck.
