That comic design which is probably a lot more accurate to his original toy is ugly but I just picked up my Generations Hoist and it's not nearly that bad. Not even close to what I would call the ugliest Transformer.

Aside from Bayformers and Beast Machines Maximals I think the ugliest Transformer was Transmetal 2 Cheetor. Not the first Transmetal, that one was awesome, the season 3 version. This monstrosity from hell.



I have always hated this thing. The toy made it worse because it doesn't even have spots on it so there's nothing to identify that it's suppose to be a cheetah. The articulation on the figure is the worst of the Beast Era considering he doesn't have working elbows due to those blades that stick out the back. He's got a giant hunch back and it's not because of kibble that ends up as a back pack, his back is completely clean it's just molded with a hunch. I hate this thing. Beast Wars is my favorite series but excluding the 90's CGI this is really the only thing I actually hated.

 

I think you'd have to split this stuff up by series, otherwise the movies win

 

Having just read this entire topic, I am impressed by your consistency from two and a half years ago!

I'm impressed that you actually remember a post I made from two and a half years ago cause I don't even remember it. lol I'm sure I have said it before but I can't remember all the crap I post online. I agree, TM2 Cheetor is hideous.

 

Not really ugly but I always thought Tankor looked like something from another series. Such a standard "robot" design, and the shoulder cannon looks like a ray gun.

The ugliest would have to be TFP Optimus without the faceplate. The way his mouth is just kind of there is uncanny, especially with the lack of a nose.

 

This. 1000 times this.

But still prettier than any Bayformer.

Both ROTF Devastator and DOTM Que/Wheeljack have my pick as the most ugliest Transformers

Animated Wheeljack, despite apearing in like three scenes, has a weird G1-esque thing going on. But they gave him a beard AND the usual side-of-the-head-ight-up-things...

 

That's not really ugly just boring. If we were talking about only Optimus, Beast Machines is easily the ugliest with the Protoform from the 2007 movie being a close second. I do like movie Optimus once he actually takes an Earth form but those few seconds of Protoform mode are hideous.

 

There was also the dead-eyed stares the human characters gave in that show. If Optimus was uncanny, the humans were Satan.
