Ask and ye shall receive... Masterpiece Seekers - 1/60 Scale Robot Mode Height = 43 ft (at the head) An F-15 is 63'9" long with a wingspan of 42'10," and Masterpiece Starscream is 13" long with an 8.5" wingspan. As we would expect with a focus on creating a realistic alt mode, Masterpiece Starscream is essentially a 1/60 scale model of an F-15 (as long as you don't look at the bottom, but even that is pretty good for a jet former). Also, the resulting robot height of 43 feet is identical to the scaled height of the classics seeker mold. Well done, Hasbro/Takara! RTS Legends Starscream - 1/206 Scale Robot Mode Height = 51 ft (at the head) Legends Starscream has a wingspan of 2.5"
I did some quick measurements on my Transformers currently in alt mode: HFTD Deluxe Battle Blade Bumblebee: 1/35 DOTM Deluxe Jolt: 1/35 DOTM Deluxe Barricade: 1/38 Voyager Ratchet: 1/30 (I used the width of the cab, since I couldn't find any accurate measurements of how long a modified emergency H2 would be) ROTF Deluxe Sidearm Sideswipe: 1/31 DOTM Deluxe Sideswipe: 1/33 (I couldn't find an exact length for the Corvette Stingray concept, so I went with 175 inches, the length of the most recent production Corvette. If anyone has a more accurate measurement, feel free to adjust- Sidearm was 5 5/8 inches long and DOTM was 5 1/4 inches)
How about Generation 1 Optimus Prime, Rodimus, Hot Rod, Kup, Powermaster Prime, the head/target/powermasters, and the Dinobots? Do you have scales for them? I couldn't find the measurements for the Freightliner COE for Prime ANYWHERE.
I think Locke gave the wheelbase for a COE truck near the beginning of the thread. What I can give you is the width: it's 8ft. Hope that helps. And yes, trying to find truck measurements is a major pain in the a**.
You're not going to find those numbers anyway, because Ratchet's vehicle mode is the only one in existence. It was created especially for the first movie.
I believe that the first page fully updated. If I have missed anyone's input, please let me know so I can correct my oversight. Thanks for everyone's contributions! Welcome aboard! Once again, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one crazy enough to care about scale. After doing some more researching, I'm thinking that width is probably the most reliable measure, especially for G1-styled Optimus Primes. Wheelbase appears to vary greatly from truck to truck and is very difficult to pin down. If there is some reason to question the width, it appears that bumper to back of cab (BBC) would be the second best choice for figuring the scale of a semi. Again, it's very hard to find good numbers for the Freightliner FLA86 that Optimus Prime is based on, but I did find this site that is selling replacement parts for FLA series trucks with BBCs of 86", 96", and 104." This is circumstantial, but I think this probably represents the range of lengths for Prime.
That's really interesting (learn something new everyday ). I'm definitely going to make a note of this the next time I have to deal with a G1 Prime, thanks! Edit: apparently the max width allowed for trucks such as Prime or Motormaster cannot exceed 8ft and 4in, so I guess using 8ft as a standard width would be somewhat reliable, but of course, it varies from truck to truck.
Is that what BBC stands for, then? I've seen that while trying to look up truck sizes but couldn't at all tell what it was.
For Metroplex/Metrotitan, would the 800m height mean the windows on the figure are scaled for the average Transformer? How big are those windows in that case? And what about at 700' tall?
An 8' Prime width: Generation 1 (using the iPod speaker Prime model) 6 1/8" robot mode 2" chest / cab 8'=96" and 96/2 gives a 1/48 scale, and a 25' tall robot mode. (Masterpiece) Prime: 9 2/8", 3.5", 4", robot: 12", chest 3 3/16" and a 1/30.1 scale, and a 30' robot mode From my own thread a while back on Generation 1 Autobot Cars: Honda City Turbo: 3,380 / 1,570 / 1,460 (length, width, height) Skids: 3 7/8", 1 11/16", 1.5"; robot 4.5" Scale: 34.3, robot mode: 12.9' Toyota Hi-Lux: Height: 1760mm, Length: 4730mm Trailbreaker: 3 15/16", 1 7/8", 1 3/16" robot mode: 5" Scale: 47.29, Robot mode of 19.7'?? Lamborghini: 162.99", 78.7", 42.13" Sunstreaker: 3 15/16", 2", 1 1/16" robot: 4 6/8" Scale: 41.4, Robot mode: 16.4" Ligier J11: Wheelbase 2794 mm (110") Mirage: Wheelbase: 3", length: 4 3/16", height: 3 15/16" -> 12'. Inferno: 5 6/8" tall. I can't find info on his vehicle mode, Mitsubishi Fuso Fire Truck Corvette Stingray: 185.5", 69.0", 47.7" Tracks: 4.5" long, 4 5/8" tall Scale: ~41/1, robot mode: 15.9' tall The Fairlady Z was 174", or 14.5' long, 66.5" wide, and 51" high The toy is 4 7/16" long, 1 5/8" wide, 1 5/16" tall, and the robot is 3 7/8" tall. That's a 40/1 scale, roughly, so he should be about 156.35" tall, or about 13' tall. So Prowl, Bluestreak, and Smokescreen should be about that. Hound: 3 5/8" long, 1 11/16" (~4.2 cm) wide, 1 3/16" tall, 3 9/16" robot height. Lamborghini Countach: length: 162.99", width: 96.46", height: 42.13" Sideswipe: length: 4 3/8", width: 1 15/16" 5.1c, height: 1 3/16", robot: 4 5/16" Roughly 37.25/1, so about 160.7" tall, so Sideswipe, Red Alert, Tigertrack, Deep Cover are about 13' 5", (13.39') tall, so about the same height as Prowl. Porsche: length: 184.3", width: 78.7", height: 49.8" (4680 mm, 1998 mm, 1265 mm) Jazz: length: 4 3/8", width: 2 3/16", height: 1.25", 4 1/8" tall Roughly: 42.7/1, so Jazz and Stepper are about 176.1", or 14.7' A-10: 16.26m, 53'4" Powerglide: 2.75" vehicle, 3" robot; scale: 1/232, actual robot height: 58.1' The scale seems to be off with most of these bots, but this is the rough guide based on G1: Trailbreaker, Hoist: 16.7' Tracks, Road Rage: 15.4' Skids, Crosscut, Screech: 12.9' Prowl, Bluestreak, Smokescreen: 12.9' Sunstreaker: 16.4' Sideswipe, Red Alert, Tigertrack, Deep Cover, Clamp Down: 13.4' Hound, Detritus: 11.9' Inferno, Grapple, Road Hauler: 19.1' Mirage: 13.1' Grimlock: 27' Jazz, Stepper: 14.7' Optimus: 25' (G1) or 30' (MP) Starscream: 43' if no mass-shifting. If someone wants to scale the images of the G1 bots together, feel free.
Skyfire / Jetfire, based on this site: Robot mode: Height: 12.68m (41.6') Jet Mode: 14.23m long (46.68')
Thanks! The alt modes are a major part of my motivation for collecting, so I like them to look good together.
I don't know if this will help anyone but you know that official DOTM scale chart that is way too damn small to see the sizes, well I was extremely impatient and didn't want to wait a month or so for the blue ray special features that might have it in a larger more clear size, so I decided to do something about it: I measured bumblebee on the screen then devide that into his actual size and find the scale then multiply that to find the size of the rest of them, and just to make sure I wasn't screwing up I tried it on Optimus and sideswipe to see if their accurate as well, and as it turns out they match their previous official sizes exactly so I continued to do so with the rest and I found these were quite accurate from the sizes seen in the actual movie quite well: Sentinel Prime: 32 feet feet Optimus Prime: 30 feet feet Bumblebee: 18 feet Barricade: 17.5 feet Sideswipe: 17 feet Starscream: 27.5 feet Megatron: 34 feet Shockwave: 31 feet Topspin: 18 feet Leadfoot: 16.5 feet Roadbuster: 18 feet Crankcase/Crowbar: 18.5 feet Hatchet: 11 feet ( at the back) Ratchet: 20 feet (you may find this one strange but at the end where ratchet puts his hand on bumblebee's shoulder and says "you fought bravely" he is only like a foot taller, definitely not enough to be 20 feet tall) Dino/Mirage: 19 feet WheeljaQ: 16.5 feet Soundwave: 23 feet Ironhide: 25 feet Mud flap/skids: 10 feet Now I may be off by a foot on some of these mayyyyybe two ,but take this as you will, I find that this is going to help with my collection a fair bit though EDIT: just found humans on the scale and then compared them to previous humans on other scale charts and found these new sizes that make much more sense.
Are there currently any other Transformers that are about 1/19 scale, so they would be on par with GI Joe and Star Wars 3 and 3/4 inch figures? So far I'm aware of: Beast Wars Transmetal Optimus Primal (based on the video game saying his height and measuring the toy) Beast Wars Transmetal Tarantulas (as above) Beast Wars II Motorarm (based on the size of the figure and the show bible official height) Beast Wars II Starscream (as above) Energon Kicker and High Wire (because Kicker is a 3 3/4 inch figure)
I too would like to make a request: the scale of both leader Optimus prime and ultimate Optimus prime please I am actually surprised we haven't gotten these two down yet. And also dotm deluxe starscream's with height specifications as well plz ?
If we use the width of front bumper=8 feet (96 inches) for Optimus Prime, that gives scales of 1/45 for Voyager Battle Blades Optimus and 1/31 for ROTF Leader Prime. I don't have an Ultimate Prime to measure though, and as others have said, that may not be entirely accurate.
Wait, the DOTM official scale chart is out already? Anyways, for the most part, very accurate robot mode heights especially when compared to the ROTF scale chart. Granted, they're about a foot or two off when dealing with larger bots like Prime, but nice job none the less, especially for just using screenshots to find the measurements.
