If someone was trying to put together a diorama, where could you get human figures that would scale reasonably well with MP scale? The Spike that comes with MP10 looks like an extra from Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
I would probably have them being terrorized by my decepticons, you know, under their boot, cringing with terror and otherwise just fleeing.
Well, I figure the Decepticons should act true to form in any display they are placed in. It is just in their nature.
Hooray, something new to scale! Blackout (Leader): 1/75 Scale Toy's Alt mode is 14", while his Bot mode is 7.5" at the head [8.75" including the whole rotor thing on his back] The real MH-53 Pave Low is 1,056" (88') meaning Blackout would be 563" (47') tall [full height would be 55'] Scorponok: 1/75 Scale Toy's full length is 4.25" [though with his tail curled up he's 2"] ..meaning he'd be 319" (27') long [but 150" (12.5') with the tail up]
(If anyone briefly saw a post from me right before this, ignore. I misread another post and replied to it, and then deleted the reply once I realized I had made a mistake) Studio Series Starscream: approx. 1:87 F-22 Raptor wingspan of 44.5 ft. SS wingspan of 6.125 inches = 1:87.18 F-22 Raptor length of 62.08 ft, SS length of 8.5 inches = 1:87.64 1:87 is, perhaps not coincidentally, HO railway scale.
Studio Series Stinger: somewhere between 1:35 and 1:40 Length: Pagani Huayra is 181.3", toy is 4.75, so 1:38.168 Width: Huayra is 80.2 inches. Not sure if that includes mirrors, so I did both. With mirrors toy is 2.25" for 1:35.64 Without mirrors is 2.06, for 1:38.93 Wheelbase: Huayra is 110", toy is 3" for 1:36.666 Height: Huayra is 46", toy is 1.25" for 1:36.8 Note: I measured with a ruler, not calipers, so there will be some error.
So, the charts on the first page is pretty out of date, so I've edited my original post to include the "newer" scales for convenience. So far it's just my own posts (admittedly a sizable chunk of this thread) plus what was on this page. If any one wants to help compile stuff (seems Locke stopped at post #270), feel free to either post here or PM or whatever so I can add it.
Looking back at the first page, I saw something I never noticed initially but how in the Hell are G1 Prowl and G1 Chromedome both 1/40?
Updated first page with scales from post #561 onward... though I skipped a lot of Page 32 (posts 621-640) since they weren't totally clear.
Updated first post again for most everything from Post #340 onwards. Skipped over 3P, scales based on robot heights, and Thyservant's rather massive posts for now. Also.... Ratchet ('07 Legends) = 1/65 Scale Toy's Alt mode (width) = 1.25”; Bot mode = 3” Hummer H2 (width) = 81” (7’) Robot Height = 195” (16’) Quite a difference from the DotM Legion (1/81 scale), though the original is a huge block of toy while the remake is standard fare.
So, I think I'm caught up in the first post. Whew! And trawling through all those posts uncovered this gem: Heh. Devy could stand comfortably in Max's shoulder compartment! EDIT: Slash: 1/11 Scale (realistic) Slash: 1/26 Scale (movie-style) Slash turns into a Velociraptor, which kinda necessitates two scales because, well.... (source) ... Jurassic Park gave the impression it was waaaaay bigger than it actually was. I assume Hasbro's intent is that Slash is monster-sized (especially since she's featherless), but this thread wouldn't be this thread without obsessively trying to find the "true" size of these toys. (there are in fact giant dromaeosaurs (Achillobator, Dakotaraptor, Utahraptor), in case I just shattered any precious childhood memories) The real Velociraptor was about 1.6' at the hip (Slash doesn't have enough tail for length). The toy stands at 1.75", meaning the scale is 1/11. Her robot mode is 3.5" tall, which would make her 39" (3') tall. Jurassic Park's Velociraptor is about 5.5' to the top of the head. The toy stands at 2.5", meaning the scale is 1/26, and which would make her 91" (8') tall.
I find it difficult to believe that HA Soundwave is 1/30, considering the SLS is quite small for a sports car. Can someone direct me to the post where it was calculated/explain the calculation to me?
sorry, i was lazy and didn't put up my measurements when i made that post, and have since sold soundwave. if someone who owns him wants to redo the measurements they're welcome too. the sls is small, agreed, but it's got a proportionally huge hood compared to other small cars like jazz's pontiac solstice, and i measured using length.
