To counterpoint all the love going on over in that "other" thread, here's a space for all of those of us who hate hte movie and all that's been done to the franchise.

Thing is going to tank, and has been completely ruined by ugly, nonsensical designs and change only for the sake of change.

Ultimately that'll be counterproductive, as without the nostalgia factor, this film will tank.

The movie may be a decent Bay action flick, but to this fan it will never be a part of the TF mythos (just like Beast Machines). I'm hoping we get something completely awesome afterwards like we did after BM with RID.

    Just sayin'. ;)

And the movie has too much Bernie Mac, what with his being in it.

I've already posted my dislike of the design aesthetic in other threads, but is something like this necessary? If anything, it seems more or less like trying to provoke a flame war with the "lovers".

To be honest, for all the people who are completely vitriolic towards the movie, why not take a stab at doing your own spin if you think you could do better? I'm not saying do the whole movie yourself, but if the story isn't doing it for you, than try and create your own story, or if the designs are just plain terrible (and for my personal tastes, most of them are), see about your own redesigns.

At the very least, it will be more productive than this kind of provocation.

Or, instead of being rhetorical, you could just let the haters have their hater thread and the lovers have their love thread and just respect that...

The more I learn about, and see of this film....the less and less that I even remotely like it.

The toys really helped sink it for me. At least make them appealing enough to buy, might be able to salvage something, but no.

It's almost like we were told to "GET BENT!" =\

I'm seeing this too. Taking design cues from perhaps the most controversial series in TF history (BM for those playing with half a spark) doesn't seem like a good decision.

Wow... our esteemed representative of the Mods has been busy deleting posts all over the place... and we got a warning pretty much right off the bat. I guess we movie skeptics are a rowdy bunch...

So... this movie looks like it's gonna suck. I hate the new designs... and... uh, stuff.

Um... does anyone feel like there's something kind of missing in this thread? Why it feels like just a bunch of people re-stating their dislike for the direction of the movie project into a vacuum of silent agreement. Dang it! We need at least one PRO-movie commentator in here, so we have something to set us off. Everything's just too... peaceful in here. :)

    Conflict! Debate! Discourse!

    Anyone?

    yoohoo...?

    :)

Actually, BM had a slightly more pleasing aesthetic. Though, that's not saying much. I didn't see it in the movie designs until you mentioned it.

Too bad though, I actually liked some of the BM designs...the movie figures hold no interest for me.

    *sighs*

I hope this film will bomb so hard that Bay and co. will run to the hills.

I'm not really excited about the film. The main reason I'll be seeing it is because Mr. Peter Cullen will be the voice for the character passing as Optimus Prime. I'm not elated over the new TF designs, but I'll give the action figures a chance. I agree that there have been too many changes for the sake of change. A "Giant F**king Robot" isn't necessarily a Transformer. Neither is everything that transforms. I just wish Michael Bay had kept that in mind. I think the movie will tank, but part of me hopes it doesn't. If successful we may see more Classics and more Transformers in general. I don't think there will ever be a 20th Anniversary DVD release of Michael Bay's product. This may turn out to be a great action movie, but it won't look like anything we've ever seen regarding Transfomers. There are some fans that only collect Transfomers prior to the 1986 Movie. I just hope I don't turn into a similar fan with the 2007 Movie. :(

I'm thinking of the Vehicons. Oddly proportioned limbs, claw "hands", and goofy head sculpts.
