Hey guys, I have a quick question for you. I'm directing a play on Dracula for the University here, and I was wondering what you guys consider to be the music for a performance of Dracula. I have just recently come into this realm, and I thought I would see what your guys opinions would be on it. Thanks!

Almost anything from the various soundtracks to the Castlevania series might be worth looking into. (Try vgmusic.com for a start.) And JS Bach's Toccata & Fugue in D Minor almost goes without saying. And who knows what else you might find that's in the public domain.

Last link: Castlevania fans might enjoy this video I found by accident. :)

I have the 300 soundtrack, which has some pretty dramatic music (for fight scenes especially). If you need to, stop by sometime and you can take a listen. :)

    Swan Lake

Works really well with Dracula. It must be in the play..

For other music, you can make like the 1931 movie and have no music after that. Personally, I would go for music that complements and enhances the mood created by Swan Lake.

:lol  My first thought when I read the thread title was Shake's line: "Oh yeah... Well, Dracula called, and he's coming for you tonight!!"

That would explain why Gwen Stefani looks like his bride, althougth I doubt even the near immortal lord of the undead has the slightest clue what the song is about.

the royal winnipeg ballet has staged a performance of dracula - i saw it last year - the music they used was excerpts from Gustav Mahler's Symphonies #1, #2 & #9 and that seemed to fit the mood

Any music by Paris Hilton or Rupaul. Nothing more scary than that.
