    Disney Planning A ROCKETEER Reboot

Personally, I love the original movie directed by Joe Johnston and I think it had a perfect ending. Even though it's a reboot, I don't think it is necessary and I doubt it will be as good as the original. However, I will give it a shot.

I'd actually like to see The Rocketeer in a new movie, but I honestly don't see why Disney would create competition for themselves when they already own Iron Man. I'm gonna hold off on believing this story until some other non-CBM outlet runs this.

Color me interested, I loved the period feel of the original Rocketeer, are they planing on keeping that or are the modernizing it?

There's no point in doing it if they don't keep it as a period piece.

I'm not against the idea of a reboot in general, but thinking about it makes me sad that Dave Stevens is not around to give input or enjoy its success. He died way too young.

I would love it if they tried to somehow tie this into the avengers somehow. Or maybe just captain america. It would be awesome!

    Agreed.

Also, for the love of God, I hope they don't change the costume.

Well, if it turns out similar to Captain America: The First Avenger then I'll be happy: both are reasonably similar sort of pulp stories based around World War II, so its as good a template for overall effect as any other.

Loved the original. One of my favourite movies, so much nostalgia for me and man oh man, Jennifer connelly, absolutely gorgeous in that movie.

/\ Trick question. Does anything they "reboot" really need to be rebooted? It is about the money.

I really am getting tired of movies that were just fine, being rebooted. I'm still waiting for the news of Star Wars Ep 4-6 reboot... My rage will be like no other...

I am a tremendous fan of "The Rocketeer." In fact, I own a recreation of the leather aviator jacket he wears.

While I love the character and the film, remakes always have me suspicious more than hopeful. Will reserve judgement until something concrete actually surfaces.

/\ Trick question. It's all about the money.

His idea was to pretty much use the actors who played in the prequels to redo the OT... For what reason, we already know...
