Yeah it was. I watch it every year and it's probably like the second best version of the Christmas Carol out there.

Damn I skipped out on this topic because I thought you guys were talking Scorpion King Rock. I saw this story on IGN this morning.

I have always loved the show and now my son loves it (he sings the song, and since he was 1 and a half, he would clap to the theme song).

I am looking forward to this movie and I hope they treat it with the same humor and attention to their original idea. That many different types of people live in the same world, and we have differences, vast ones at times, but we still coesxist. Don't know how the Gorgs fit into that, but they did.

What I really really hope is that, like Uncle Matt, they still view humans as aliens and even nod some of our weirdness.

    I love the muppets.

There has been very little in the realm of puppetering since the advent of computer animation. I miss it.

I used to love Fraggle Rock back when I was a kid. I'd never miss an episode on the CBC.

I absolutely loved that show as a kid. Hell, I still love it now. Watch my sister's DVDs whenever I go home. I'd buy my own if I wasn't spending the money on other stuff.

I'm going to see this if I have to get my roommate to drive me at gunpoint.

Don't get me wrong, I loved the Fraggles when I was a kid... it just seemed like an odd thing to get a movie release.

    Damn skippy!

Weinstein Co. to Make Live-Action Fraggle Rock Movie

now thier hitting the big screen

    http://buzzsugar.com/1625856

Guess what? It's time to "Dance your cares away/ Worry's for another day/ Let the music play/ Down at Fraggle Rock!" The Fraggles are back! According to Variety, the Weinsteins are teaming up with Lisa Henson of the Jim Henson Company to bring a live-action, half-human half-puppet Fraggle Rock extravaganza to the big screen. Check it out:

Just like the series, the film will be populated by a mix of human characters and Fraggle Rock puppets. . .Pic will take the core characters Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red outside of their home in Fraggle Rock, where they interact with humans, which they think are aliens. The show premiered on HBO in 1983, ran five seasons and was broadcast in more than 80 countries. It posted strong sales recently when the first three seasons were released on DVD.

Awww! I'm excited about this news for so many reasons, but first and foremost: Hooray for no CGI! It'll be so great to get some good old-fashioned puppets, just like we'll get with Jason Segel's Muppet project. Plus, I can't wait to see some Fraggle musical production numbers choreographed for the big screen — and hopefully accompanied by Gobo on his gourd guitar.

Want to take a sweet little trip down Memory Lane? After the jump, relive the adorableness that is the opening sequence to Fraggle Rock. You can enjoy when you read more.
