I just want to say that RID has to be THE most underated/undervalued transformers line of all time. In my eyes, it is what brought the Transformers back from grave. It ranks 3rd on my all time list of favorites, but it ranks 1st in variety and innovation.

 

I have a question to those of you who own RID Optimus Prime. I recently acquired a used one from a collectors' store (along with Ultra Magnus), and I am having trouble keeping his truck mode from falling apart. I looked online for instructions and even looked on YouTube for videos on how to properly transform him, so I'm fairly certain I'm doing it right. Did I just have bad luck and get one with weak connectors, or is this a common issue?

 

What part is falling apart? the "cab" the little pieces that connect the cab to the ladder?

Mine stays together fine unless I pick it up.. lol

 

Usually it's the ladder platform that doesn't like to stay in place, and pretty much the whole back section comes off the main cab whenever I look at it funny. It seems to me like it's the result of poor design with only those two pegs holding it together, unless I'm missing something... overall the peg connectors seem generally weak.

I do consider myself a bit fortunate because all the tires are present and none show signs of splitting.

 

Thought it was time this Thread got some love as there is a new RID in 2015 I didn't want the old one to be to neglected in the meantime...

 

One of my greatest days have to be today because i got a new Movor and Rollbar for my ruination and today i found on BBTS C-012 J-5 (U.S. Railspike),C-014 J-4 (U.S. Midnight Express), and C-002 Wild Ride (U.S. X-Brawn). Rail and Midnight were 12.99 takara version in box and X-brawn was 8.99 takara version. I was orginally going to buy the overpriced walmart exclusive strafe 2 pack but i looked around i saw them so i put all three in my cart and ordered. Now i cant wait for them to come in and its good day today to be a RID/Car Robots fan.

I figured, since Beast wars and G1 toylines have their own threads, the Car Robots/R.I.D. line can have one too.  

Just got the six-changer Mega(Giga?)tron. Great figure with lots of poseability. Just wish the chrome didn't come off so easily.  

 

If it's Car Robot thread the catchphrase should be "FIRE!!!!!!"  

Car Robot is one of the only two TF series I love as a whole - toys and show. I hope you'll get to enjoy more figures from CR.

I'm thinking of getting Prowl. Is he any good?

 

Prowl is excellent. Just watch the ball joint socket on the doors, they are known to crack.
