    What I've learned so far:
-filing metal in a pain in the butt!!!
-constructing parts out of styrene is great fun!

-Planning ahead helps alot! ( but ain't the cure for everything)
-It's actually going rather well compared to what I was expecting ( I shouldn't say that, things will get wrong!)
I love WIP shots... So here is my share, thanks for looking, and more than happy to share with you, and to be part of you :)

    January 9th Update
I finalled how I wanted soundwave's arms to be.
Still some "polishing to be done" CLosing some more holes.
Upper body's shape is about 90% completed. Still have to work on his shoulder mounted cannon.

    January 13th Update...
Those revoltech joints are not that strong... they break sometimes!
Now this is the pose I wanted to do. The eject pose!

I'm really happy since the arm actually reaches the button, wich I'll modify so it fits on top of the chest piece rather than the hatch of the cassette door

    January 14th Update
Both arm engineering are done, a bit more finalizing on the arms and there done.
    Looking good!
    Starting the legs tonight!

wow man, great wip pictures, always nice to see people's working out shots

I was dissappointed too with titanium Soundwave, this looks lie it has potential to look very nice.

I'm not much off a lurker myself, so I'll leave it to someone else to welcome you to the board :)

You're having to file that down? Hope you're using a dremel or some power tools because that thing looks pretty solid. Looking good for the design though.

I Have to say I've broken a few bits already. I resigned myself at some point and just use a metal file to do the job. All it took is time, and yeah true, a bit of skin off my fingers every now and then ;)

Thanks a lot for your comments Dormamu, greatly appreciated :)

Nice to see a fellow Graphics guy doing some bashing! Btw, try the smaller cutting tool first, then work out the rough stuff with a smaller drum sandeer attachment and a lil sandpaper, and you should be out of the cactus and into the roses! :thumb

I'll be working on the accurate plan for the arms tonight. I'll post them tomorow ( I just moved... internet isn't around just yet... luckily there's work ;) _)

You know, you could stop right there and your soundwave would be better then the titanium version:lol . After opeing mine, both legs fell off the figure.
I've always like that mod and yours is coming out great. Can't wait to see it in color.

Thank you very much for your comments, I've posted a new pic for the shoulder part drawn earlier in pencil. Now this is the look, I'm looking for.

I'll have to sculpt a few bits obviously, and build it straight... wich I hope will be easier, than I think!

I'll be working hard on the scale issue tonight!
I'd like to have this kitbash done soon!

    Coming from the man himself!
    I must say i'm flattered!
Thank you for the inspiration, you're the one that got me into kitbashing!

I've seen your revolteh soundwave a while ago, maybe a year or so, and since the first day I saw him, I wanted one of my own.

One thing I wish I did, was ask your permission or aknowlegde to make a similar project.

I assume that your positive respond to my work in progress is also a " oh well I don't mind at all if I inspired you and that you forgot to ask "

I just wanted to say thanks, for your soundwave is the reason I got to this site and that I started customizing
    transformers.

I use to paint gamesworkshop figurines before... I like this alot better, at least I play with my transformers !

Been out of town and just saw this. I thought I'd reply in the thread as well as PM.

Of COURSE you don't need my permission! I'm happy there will be another tiny Soundwave somewhere in the world. Keep up the good work! And I love the eject pose!

yes, revo joints can be delicate. I've broken my fair share of them, especially the smallest ones like the Soltic uses for his wrist joints.

One thing though... I totally destroyed his waist while attempting something at the early stage of developement... But what i'm really about, it that I "remade" the elbow joint entirely, I will, when done, make close up of it with of course a better camera... I also was able to insert the hand joint litterally. I was able, this way to keep titanium soundwave's forearm and shoulders ( with alot of mod but still)

Second arm is drying of it's expoxy right now.
This project is coming along the way real nice
