In the first movie we see Cybetron with transforming towers covered by corpses over a land of rivers of what is presumably.

Come DOTM we see a honeycomb like layer upon layer of Cybertron. This seems to be reinterpretation of the cartoon G1 Cybertron.

G1 Cybertron has large fissures, cities, towers with many layers underneath.

If Star Wars' Coruscant is city covered world movie Cybertron is nothing but cities.

Now to reconciliate the two movie depictions of Cybertron I'm gonna assume the side with the bleak atmosphere is the Decepticon territory or some wasteland.

We saw a small part of Cybertron in the first film, and a second small part in this film. The honeycomb could easily be the outer layer of the planet with the interior looking more like we're used to.

I figure the honeycomb was supposed to be the south pole. Kaon/the Wastelands and the like.

I imagine that they even had a metal atmosphere of honey combs that could open to allow ships and transformers into the planet. The Cybertron everyone saw in the first movie is there, its just under neath the honey comb atmosphere layer.

It could also be that part with the honeycombs were scaffolding from larger structures that had collapsed or not yet been built, or could have been related to the gigantic space bridge "pillar" facility.

The honeycomb? A giant version of one of these.
