    Jiggle the wires!

Erm, perhaps you should trying cooling it a bit? Or...hitting it.

I assume that $129 was from Microsoft, eh?

thats what i think happens...Microsoft wants you to constantly play it, and if you dont, it goes into a self-destruct/denile phase then you gotta pay $120 to fix/bring it out of denile...lol

Your problem is overheating due to stupidity on the assembly line here is a link on how to fix it but it does require opening up your 360 http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumbs.ars/2006/6/16/4353

In some 360s they left the cover on the heatsink during assembly, remove it apply some thermal compound put it back on and reassemble.

Microsoft claims that heatsink foil is supposed to be there, but I find that highly unlikely.

The 360 won't start up at all? If it were the foil, you'd think it would run for a few minutes at least, but I guess that could be it.

It's worth a shot before wasting the money for them to fix it, since your warranty has run out.

Considering I have been building PC's for well over 10 years and I have NEVER seen a heatsink like that I call BULLSHIT and say they are just covering their asses, especially since all the reports I have heard say that the 360's made after this was found do not have the foil. Again I call BULLSHIT

Clearly you weren't sacrificing virgins weekly in honour of our Lord and Master, Bill.

    And you were punished.

I point and laugh at you before I go back to lick his boots clean.

(Sucks man, sorry to hear it, I will also join the camp of "I hope that doesn't happen to mine")

...which is no great surprise; yours is just one example out of many i've read where MS has fixed/replaced systems after the 90 days.

You were willing to throw away $130 without even taking the cover off?

Bah, had it not been for his money throwing ass, he wouldn't of gotten it fixed for free correctly.
