I mean, basically. If you boil it down to its essence.

Allow me a moment to explain.

The first thing you have to understand is that there's some VERY interesting color coding going on in this movie.

As mentioned elsewhere, the color YELLOW is definitely the KEY to understanding John Malkovitch's character [http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...10437-bruce-brazos-bumblebee-100-serious.html ], just as the RED and BLUE energy patterns of the Pillars may be the key to understanding THEM [http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...52-connection-between-pillars-earths-h20.html], and -- bear with me here -- yes, the RED cup "freakout" scene is THE KEY TO THE ENTIRE FILM.

    o_O

Haha, shut up, damnit...I'm being serious here.

So, how does that go again?

Pretty much everything's going fine & dandy until suddenly Sam's soon-to-be boss FREAKS OUT because he spots a RED cup on the YELLOW floor of his business.

"Why is Shontel using what appears to be a RED cup from the RED floor when we are on the YELLOW floor?!? It is a VISUAL and therefore a VISCERAL BETRAYAL. STOP IT."

    Hmm.

And what color is Sentinel Prime again?

    O_O

    Damn.

Easily some of the sneakiest, yet blatantly-obvious-in-hindsight foreshadowing in the entire movie.

    PURE AWESOMENESS.

    :D

That's interesting. Heh heh.... Stop watching the movie. You've obviously watched too many times.

It's like I'm back in my "Art on film and film as art" class... there's nothing there til someone reads into it. Then people "get it". I call bullshit.

It makes sense because yellow is the color of Bumblebee, a good guy.

But red is also the color of 3 good guys (Mirage/Dino, Leadfoot, as well as Optimus).

Honestly after going through these threads I have to agree with this. You're looking too far into coincidences.

I hate to be mean, but maybe you've been watching the films a good too many times. It's good you enjoy it, but I don't think Bay&co. have the foresight to create such cohesive foreshadowing, alluding, or referencing; if they did have such foresight, we wouldn't have two sequels that constantly get flak.

They already had the "Spock goes nuts" reference at that point.

Nice to hear, thanks! It's just another way to view the symbolism and such of these films, I'm not particularly sure why certain people see the need to be so rude and dismissive about it all. I tried very deliberately to make them entertaining reads and to lay everything out very clearly and logically, at least. No need to be so antagonistic, right?

    :-\

Nah, still finding new stuff EVERY time! Thanks, though...glad you found it interesting.

    :)

Or perhaps they're seeing it because it's there. When you're working on the same movie for years, you find ways to add layers of depth to it. Classes like the one you evidently wasted your money ignoring help advanced audiences find and recognize those elements. You should pay more attention in class, I'd say.

Sure, it was that as well. Obviously. I'm saying there's also more to it. And there wasn't very much "looking into it," frankly. It pretty much jumped right out at me.

Sure, but only ONE Transformer turned traitor in this movie...and he was red. And the entire plot of the movie was centered around stopping him. Pretty straightforward.

And I say you're just turning a blind eye to what IS there and has been clearly outlined for you.

Oh, please. Sell them short and hate on them all you like, but there's still TONS of people working at the tops of their fields on these movies with PLENTY of time to work in lots of subtle little details here and there. If these allusions and references weren't there to be found then I wouldn't have found them.

Which has no bearing on my point.

    Thanks SO much!

I wouldn't bother sharing or even writing them up in the first place if I didn't truly believe there were some insight to them which others might appreciate.

I swear, people are acting like I just posted a thousand re-posts of an unrelated and off-topic essay about my neighbor's dead cat while snapping their mother's fingers one-by-one or something.

    What a pleasant welcoming, lol.

Your other threads may be utter BS and stretching the boundaries of what has been established as symbolism and undertones, but this one is actually a bit interesting.

    Huh.

I gotta say, that makes sense. Maybe Michael Bay and his crew know more than just explosions?

    Agreed.

You're reading way too much into this. I think you need to take a break and watch something else.
