No thanks. Megatron coming back is over used in the movie series. 1. Unfrozen and rebooted 2. Rebuild with allspark shard 3. On his last leg and should be dead. I think it would have been better is they saved shockwave for 4 and not 3. The only way I see is Unicron or pretenders. Maybe even deathsaurus or predaking. (as a joke) maybe this reimagin continuation is beast wars.

This. Both were in a weakened state, yet Megatron was still stronger. Prime needed to end the war the only way he could, a quick axe to Megs head and immediate decapitation.

 

I don't see the problem with how their fight resolved in DOTM. The end felt a little disjointed, but it was a battle, what battle isn't? I could see the genuine fear in Optimus's eyes when his arm got chopped off, but remorse left him when he was given the slightest opportunity.

 

Yeah, Megatron was killed off because at the time, TF4 was not planned and Bay was more or less done with TF's.

I also can not fathom why some people are so AGAINST the idea of a new guy as opposed to bringing Megatron back from the dead as himself or Galvatron. Transformers as a franchise has a whole history full of potential bad guys that have nothing to do with Megatron, or Unicron for that matter.(I.E. Straxus/Darkmount, Overlord, hell even Ratbat has a shot). Is it too much to ask for a little originality in the villain?

 

I don't think most of the movie fans want to step outside the box and see what else is out there.

Seriously how does that look any better or worse than any other movie design? It might look ugly; but the movie aesthetic was captured.

 

I'm curious to know how Unicron or whomever is going to get a hold of Megatron's remains in order to format him into Galvatron. That design on the first page looks way too horrid even for the demonic looking Cons. G1 Galvatron had a regal look to him.

 

Megatron died so easily because he was a wreck.

 

You know, he has been shot in the face before.

 

Which is to say: The "movie" aesthetic is ugly.
